"An old period home, exterior is in need of maintenance and cleaning. Gardens around property could be maintained better. Interior of property is lovely and generally upkept well. The room was an average size, just a double bed, it was comfortable. Furnishings nice. Bathroom had a bath but it's in need of renovations and a good bleaching. Nice lounge area to sit for a drink. Billiards room was wonderful to play snooker. Restaurant for dinner was ok. A continental breakfast is avail, very minimal selection. Cereals, tinned and fresh fruit; croissants, cheese and toast. Cooked breakfast is an additional 10 pounds."

"Beautiful property in a great location in Dumfries. We loved our room. We were able to walk to/from the train station and all over town. The owners are awesome and so is the breakfast. There’s a dry cleaners/launderette two blocks away and we were able to drop off our clothes and pick them up the next morning. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Dumfries."
