If you are looking for a "motel" one night stay type thing this could be alright. The area isn't great, but security is good.
I thought the actual room was pretty nice, although there were one or two stains lying around, I liked the bathroom.
My highlight was definitely the friendliness of the staff, and the thing I disliked the most was the difficulty I had sleeping as a result of the noisy hotel guests.
Not having air con in the room meant that we slept with the windows open as it was much too hot. The noise of the street with cars, barking dogs and roosters made for an early morning wake up.
Rooms do not look like the pictures at all. They are blue. There was a window I could not close leading to the main hall causing it to be quite noisy. My room was near the main gate which was also noisy. The room was cool and dank. The surrounding area was not that nice. Would not stay in mossel bay. Or if so, stay near the beach/lighthouse area.
The location is great and staff very helpful. Buffet breakfast was also excellent. Air con would have been nice as there was quite a bit of noise outside our room - car horns, dogs barking and roosters. Our toilet seat was also broken so it would slide when we used it and eventually the entire lid came off.
When you pull into the area you are going to question where you are. Once you are inside the staff are amazing, the hotel is great and was just fun! The room was great, and breakfast was absolutely over the top!! A full African style brunch. What a great experience. If you are looking for an amazing experience then stay here!
Katastrof...
Inget av det som lovades vid incheckningen infriades.
Dom till och med ljög om saker.
Frukosten var primitiv och gjordes upp över öppen eld...
Se upp för kackerlackorna!!!
Låt er inte luras av det billiga priset

Not much of a casino
Lovely staff and satisfactory accommodation. 5 slots machines was not the casino we were expecting. It's in an neighbourhood area which was a shock but by the end of the stay it didn't matter. It added to the charm.
We had a two night stay at the hotel. The room had a spectacular view of the ocean. It was a well maintained and clean room. The hotel staff is very friendly and were always there to assist. They serve an elaborate breakfast at a decent price as it wasn't part of our booking. Overall a friendly atmosphere and close to all the major attractions of Mosselbay.
Great for passing through, though is a little off the N2. For the price, it was a great deal. Amazing Braam breakfast, and super clean room. Staff was really nice, as well. My only issues were that dinner took over an hour to be ready (no frills burger), the bathroom was absurdly small- smaller than on boats I've been on! and all the hard floors made it very loud. I could hear everything going on in the rooms and hallways around me. It's not in a very nice area, either, so if you're looking for a quick layover with plans elsewhere, this is the place for you. If you want something you can stay at for a few days to meander around town (by foot, anyway) this may not be the best choice.
Hotel Porta Diaz, is not situated in a good area, so if you view walking around at night forget it. However if you are just going for business and staying the night inside or driving it may be fine. From the outside and even reception it looks rundown, however the rooms are very good.
Positives: Nice Room, Good Seaview but over a location setting, some rooms have a self catering nook, black out curtains, big fridge, microwave safe parking.
Negatives: Poor area, poor wifi, other parts of hotel look run down, no aircon, – fans only.
Did not dine so could not comment
Al llegar al hotel nos desilucionó la zona pero una vez dentro todo estuvo muy bien. Se llevan las 5 estrellas la atención y amabilidad del personal. Recomendable si van con auto.
