"Great location but the standard room accommodation is simply too small to accommodate one or more large suitcases. We had to leave two suitcases in our car and step over our smaller carry on cases. We’ve never been in such a small room despite 40 years of travel."

"The room was clean and had a view of the lake. The bed was comfortable. While the hotel is basic, I don't think it deserves the reviews it has received. It is a good, clean, comfortable stay. The price is more than I would expect in the city because it is in the middle of the South Island in a Dark Sky area, which adds costs."

"Didn’t see any staff on that day. There's no shampoo, body wash just a handwash in the shower. No face tower, just one hand tower in the shared bathroom/toilet for the whole house. Love the kitchen and lounge area, clean and tidy. "
