"The Eco Retreat's location is amazing. The retreat provides an awesome communal cooking arrangement steps away from the beautiful view of the Black Mountains. The location was fantastic and a great option to the standard hotel view. While there are other locations with a mountain view in the area, Mount Mitchell Eco Retreat surpasses them in the acreage of privacy and uninterrupted views of the mountains. "

"My stay was terrific. The Hotel is a charming throwback to earlier years. Every detail of the renovation, from the rooms to the public areas were perfectly appointed. The Breakfast Buffet was varied and filling. The Best "Grits" I have ever eaten - they actually had a taste of corn, they were delicious! Parking was convenient. There were plenty of spots available just outside or within a few steps of the front porch. The "Speak Easy Bar" in the Basement was a great surprise experience. Music...

"Beautiful boarding house on the National Registry. Highly recommend staying here. Delicious breakfast, made to order, daily. Popular restaurant by night. My husband said the trout was the best he has ever had, anywhere. Walk to town or to Tomahawk Lake Town is a popular shopping destination 20 minutes to Biltmore and the Blue Ridge museum and parkway. Also check out the town museum and the huge antique store just off the highway. "
