Lantau island is a beautiful island and Silvermine Bay is a pearl in that beauty. I've been visiting Lantau since 1965 when I was 3! I have not stsyed at this guest house before but for the money it is excellent value in a fantastic setting with lovely staff.

Thought I got a great price for such large room shown in photos….. really walked into a tiny bed space with only one bed and cat crawling space around with nice glass bathroom & a toilet. But the property has aged a lot and need new decor including ROOM SIZE.

I went here as a family of four, having booked two double rooms, selected for "one double bed" in each room, confirmed, paid. When I check in, I was told one of the rooms have to be two single beds, which is not what I have booked for. The staff did not give a valid explanation. After a long discussion and a ruined mood, he agreed to ask if other guests is willing to switch the double bed room for me. Turn out I was lucky as I got the room with double bed as I have booked, but the whole experience has been awful, with the front desk staff (a male staff) having poor communication skill and display a non-helpful attitude. I have a 3-star for staff and service only because of the lady who serve breakfast and was very kind to my daugher. If it wasn't for her, it would have been a 1-star staff service.

The staff were wonderful , the room was and bathroom and shower was very clean , they went out of their way to provide me with whatever I asked , one staff lady even bought me a phone charger when mine broke . Breakfast was included they cooked great eggs and bacon coffee tea was awesome . If you're looking for luxury and fancy this isn't it . If you're looking for less crowd beautiful quite beach right out the front lobby doors then you found it . Carol , Ana , tfe chef , I forgot his name the cleaning ladies made up my room perfectly every day . All staff were friendly and they all spoke English and other multiple languages . I'll definitely go back .

It must be old building but under good maintenance. Gate is just in front of beach. About 20 minites to ferry terminal on food along the beach. Very pleasant stay, away from busy HK life

Lovely spot overlooking the beach. Value for money was excellent. Read the hotel description carefully - it is a small hotel with small rooms. If you are just looking for somewhere to sleep while you explore rural Lantau it is ideal.
