Nice hotel - good location. Staff friendly. No air conditioning in rooms on hottest days of the year - along with loud chatter from room next door meant minimal sleep.

The hotel staff is terrific at every level. They are genuinely interested in your comfort and satisfaction. They have an on-site pub and restaurant which serve good fare, again, with really good people on the job.

In the woods but right on the S-bahn train route
Lovely hotel with great restaurant and beer garden on the outskirts of Munich, been coming here for over thirty years. Rooms are sweetly traditional Bavarian, breakfast is good. S-bahn train into Munich is 100 yards away, and you are right on beautiful trails for biking or walking.

I'll be back!
Really friendly staff on reception and the restaurant - especially the ladies. They were so fun! Beautiful trails through the forest behind the hotel. Amazingly quiet sleep! I wish I had more time there.

Traveling not by car is very difficult. Traveling from the Buchenhain S-Bahn station with the suitcases is not a fun thing to get to the Gasthof. Room and bedding is good, size of bathroom is a joke. Breakfast excellent. Conciere service, very good.

a big parking space is in front of the house, for free. The Highway is 10 Minutes away. The big B11 is running directly to our hotel. By car is very easy! Some bathrooms are small, some are bigger, but they are definately not a joke, sorry.

Fantastic Stay!!
Fantastic stay in a true Bavarian hotel with wonderful service. Breakfast was lovely, train station is a two minute walk and the beds were super comfy! Great restaurants and ice cream cafes five minutes away. Would definitely book this place again!

This was such a great place!! Only thing that would have made it better was air conditioning as it was extremely hot. Staff was super friendly and breakfast was great too! Would definitely visit again!

yes we had 39 degrees... we do not have air conditioning in the hotel but we have shadow from the trees as we are in the forest. bit this heat was really extreme and not normal..

Great location! Far enough away from the city to give you the feeling of living in a small Bavarian village, but located right next to a train stop so you can be in downtown Munich in 30 minutes. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly, and the food is excellent. There's a beer garden and kid's play area adjoining the hotel. Good place to stay if you're vacationing with the family. I'd certainly stay at this property again.

Stayed for one night on my way to Neuschwanstein. Friendly staff (even though I do not speak German), very clean and quiet. --I have spent the last 3wks in a noisy apartment, my body really appreciated the chance to sleep without interruptions. :) Room (single) had a bed, a small desk and a bathroom. There are some nice trails between the river (Isar) and the hotel. Even (unintentionally) found a geocache. Bummed I did not try their restaurant... had too much beer and wasn't that hungry. Have read some great reviews about it.

Great value
Great location, walk to S Bahn, loved the included Bavarian breakfast, peaceful setting, backing to the Isar River Valley. Friendly staff. Nice Biergarten ass well. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel!
Lovely hotel (especially in the snow!) The train station is right in front of the hotel, but be aware you need to go under a bridge to get to the train station and back. (It was difficult to figure out the path in the snow.) The staff was lovely, and the rooms were cozy. Loved the food at the restaurant as well. Definitely going back if I ever make a stop at Munich!

Great choice
This was a perfect place. The staff was so friendly. It was great to have such Great food options at the attached restaurant. The rooms were very comfortable. Again, the staff was very friendly. This is our first hotel in our trip to Europe. It was an awesome choice for us.

Nice traditional German hotel
Set in the woods but just a two minute walk from a train station which takes you directly to Marienplatz in 30 minutes. The breakfast is a typical German buffet with plenty of options. Unfortunately I never ate dinner there but it looks like you can receive a good quality, traditional southern German meal. Just be aware to check in before 11pm as the hotel is not staffed 24 hours a day. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and there is a good chance I will stay here again on a future trip to Munich.

Great Stay South of Town
The staff was very accommodating and helpful with my stay. The food and drink for breakfasts and dinners were very tasty, and the Bierstube offered an opportunity to watch Champions League football (a definite plus).

Friendly and comfortable
This is a very friendly and comfortable hotel. We were without a car, but the train station directly across the street makes access to central Munich very easy. Trains run every 20 minutes and get to the central station in about 20 minutes. The included breakfast was quite good, but for dinner, we did not care for the hotel's restaurant (mainly because we weren't fond of the traditional Bavarian dishes). Great bike path runs right by the hotel, and they have loaner bicycles. Although the hotel is in suburban Munich, its setting makes you feel as though you are in a lovely forest. Highly recommend this place!

Great hotel for families
This is a great stop for families. There is a big park off the front of the hotel. Included breakfast was great. The only downside was no air conditioning (stuffy in the Summer). Otherwise, we loved it.

Quaint Bavarian Hotel w beer garden close to train
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely return. It was super close to train so easy to commute into Munich [20 min] but the setting was so much richer than a downtown hotel and less expensive. The hotel is located next to a small forrest where we went for a nice run - hard to find on an European vacation in major cities. The breakfast choices were expansive and one of the best we had on our trip (e.g. Fresh fruit, yougurts, cheese, croissants, ham, cereal, hot cocoa, 20 or so different teas, coffee, etc.). They had a lovely patio area with massive beer umbrellas and tables 🍺 . Their Wiener schnitzel was excellent and they had very yummy desserts. Lastly, the staff were all extremely nice and helpful. They even helped us book a car and had it delivered to the hotel.

Best place to stay in Munich area
A gem of a place. Even our Munich relatives were impressed. Great service, location, food, Biergarten and the people who work there are fantastic. They really go out of their way to make you feel appreciated. Also a great kid-friendly place.

Perfect Stray
Perferct stay. Great Staff. Conviently located about 100 meters from an S Bahn station, pefect for getting into Munich. Free parking, great breakfast. Guesthous in in a quiet location but convientiently situated to get into Munich. Minutes from Bavaria Film City and the Zoo. The restaurant is great and the Breakfast was a nice suprise. We'll be back.

Friendly, cozy hotel.
We stayed here for 4 nights, we had booked 3! Our room was comfortable but wish the shower was larger. The free breakfast is outstanding! The dining room menu is good with enough of a variety to make most everyone happy. The food is well prepared and delicious. The staff could not do enough for us, helped with directions, sold us the train ticket into Munich and gave us hints upon arrival in Munich. Took care of our postcards too! This is a charming out of way place to relax, unwind? and yet get into the city easily with the quiet train right in front of the hotel. They even do laundry!

Nice Bavarian style hotel and restaurant
I've stayed here a few times. The location is quiet but is right on the edge of the forest so great for running and walking before and after work. The restaurant offers very decent Bavarian style food and drink. The staff are all friendly and efficient.
