"So yes this was 100% a white lotus type experience. That said. The service was impeccable. We went to kinigi for gorilla trekking and Sambora coordinated every detail beyond the permits. They did everything from finding the right outerwear to finding us a great driver. Meals were delicious. We sat every night at a long table with other guests which was fun - we were traveling as a couple so was nice to mix it up. But yes. White lotus. Just be prepared."

"We had a wonderful stay at Volcanoes Over View Safaris and Camp. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our visit. Although Google Maps initially led us to an impassable road, the local community was kind enough to guide us safely to the camp, which we truly appreciated. Once we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. Our room was spacious, the showers were hot, and the staff made sure every request was met promptly. We were visiting the area for gorilla trekking and, despite planning our trip months in advance, we had not arranged transportation from the camp to the trekking headquarters or starting point. Michael quickly stepped in and organized everything for us at a very reasonable cost. Our driver was also fantasticโfun, engaging, and added to the overall experience. We highly recommend Volcanoes Over View Safaris and Camp and would gladly stay there again."

"Our stay at Grotta Resort was very comfortable and the staff were amazing. Itโs very convenient if you want to do Gorilla trekking. We were picked up and dropped off at Kigali by the resort, our driver Enock really looked after us and made sure we arrived at our destinations."

"The property is lovely. Perched on the hillside, you feel like youโre on top of the world every day at breakfast with panoramic view of Lake Kivu. Our cabin was the closest to the lake which offered us unobstructed views from our patio which was the perfect spot to read or watch an incoming rain storm. It was a bit more of a hike uphill to breakfast and dinner but it was worth it. Plus we were also closer to the pool which was really one of the deciding factors why we picked Umutozo. You also have to take an outdoor shower while youโre there! Food was tasty and very fresh, we said hi to the on-site animals a couple of times. We enjoyed chatting with other guests and the owner Philippe at meal times. The staff was also great including Olivier who took us on our excursion to Napoleon Island and was very engaging to talk to on the boat ride there. I do recommend having a 4wd vehicle since there is a substantial amount of driving on unpaved roads required to reach the property. Very much enjoyed our time spent here."

"Amazing service, charming rooms, fantastic food. I went there after a gorilla trek and before hiking up Bisoke and they were fantastic. They helped arrange transport as well. Will absolutely be staying here again if I'm back in Musanze."
