Let me first start off by saying I have been coming to the outer banks for vacations for over 30 years and this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel. This hotel was brand new and only open for three days before we arrived. Are issues to be expected… yes, however in my opinion the opening of the hotel was rushed and should have been delayed for several more weeks until a thorough inspection could have been done of the rooms and systems. The first issue we ran into: there was no hot water for the first 24 hours. Not just in my room as I witnessed several guests also complaining about this issue. 2nd issue, only half the outlets in my room worked and only half the light fixtures worked. 3rd: breakfast was super chaotic… the turkey sausage was cold and they did not have eggs ready. The staff member told me they did not have ovens and were having to microwave everything. How can you have a hotel that will accommodate 100s of guests and not have the proper appliances to prepare food if you are offering breakfast. 4th issue: house keeping came in to the clean the room, when we returned our room door was not shut all the way putting our things in jeopardy of being stolen… luckily they were not. I asked for the manager to call me and I have yet to receive a call. The front staff was taking all the issues and writing them on a sticky pad. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this hotel.
