"This is one our favorite hotels to stay in when in the Houma LA area visiting with family. The location is perfect for shopping, dining and even entertainment. The staff are so amazing here and super helpful with accommodating our needs. Although they no longer have a pool on site, they did replace it with a very comfortable patio area. It's has plenty of seating for relaxing and lounging. Perfect place to sit and have your morning breakfast or a hot beverage before you start your day."
"This says “good for families” and I think that statement needed to be qualified: “good for families ON A TIGHT BUDGET.”
We stayed here at the last minute because our original booking close to LSU fell through for silly reasons. Given that it was graduation and baseball weekend, it was a miracle we found this location at a cheaper price than what other comparable locations were charging.
The first issue was that our first room didn’t lock. To be honest it seems as if someone had tried to break into the room. Then there was an overall smell to the room, and our subsequent replacement room. Like…men’s cologne.
I’ll just say that this is the kind of place where they’ve definitely remodeled to try to get it up to standard but I wouldn’t sit on the bedspread. The breakfast was type sub par, but again all in line with what we paid per night.
BUT….the staff were AMAZING. Ms Debbie at the front was just so helpful and kind and the maintenance and cleaning staff were just as incredible. They all deserve to be working at a higher class hotel that could be using their skills.
Also note that currently there is a lot of construction around the location which was a huge pain."
"The door didn’t lock on our door. You could
Open without a key! Manager came and said it was fixed. We left to get lunch and our door could be opened without a key! Finally changed rooms. This door lock also didn’t work right. Had keys reworked and still bad. Missing electrical
Socket covers.the deadbolt was half gone e so couldn’t lock extra lock. This place needs updated!Next trip stay at the Holiday Inn.
Breakfast was a few bananas a couple oranges and granola bar."
