"On the verge of criminal.
Showed up, and was asked for a $100 cash deposit - with a sign on the wall saying the deposit is $25.
Walked by staff to a catfish ONE BED ROOM with a view of a wall, having paid for a TWO BED ROOM with a "view". Was told, while walking to the room, of a story about "only having one key for the 2 of us." (Later finding out there's no keys at all)
Then was told our reserved room was water-damaged (doubt it), and the shed of a room was the only thing available.
Was told they could discount it - later told they don't have the authority to discount.
Not enough of a wifi signal to find another hotel.
They rolled up a filthy cot - that could NOT even fit anywhere in the room.
Was mansplained that they've solved our problem by sending us to a more expensive hotel, that we'd have to pay to get to.
It's dark, we're exhausted, and decided to take the room - to then find out we can't lock the door. No keys at all.
We decide to leave, and the guy at the counter is talking trash to us (all on audio if management wants to hear it).
Requested a receipt / proof of not accepting the room, and was told "don't worry so much about it, we won't get charged." Insisting repeatedly, a second guy eventually sent a email, and while we were waiting outside in the dark, decided to pay for our cab to the other much more expensive hotel. A nice gesture, but not even close to making up for the treatment/garbage.

"This facility is beautiful inside. The people were friendly and very helpful. The food was good at the main restaurant. A few things to note- there is typically just one place open at night. The sushi place was open only on Friday/sat night. There was no live music, no outdoor dining at night, fire pit was only lit one night we were there, most things within walking distance close early, the cruise boats are the driver for the tourism. The resort food was incredibly expensive and gratuity and taxes added. Be prepared to spend a lot of money just to eat. The coffee in the rooms was not drinkable and there is not free hotel ready made coffee like in the states. The coffee at the coffee bar was amazing and $10/day for one There was a mcD’s and Dunkin' close but the thousands of people coming off of tour boats was remarkable and made it hard to do anything during the day. The beach had a lot of Plastic debris and only was cleaned and raked one night in our 6 night there. I picked up straws and cups daily. Management was outside on site one day and things looked much better. The umbrella guys were great. The outdoor space and pool were very nice. Swimming with turtles right off the beach was amazing. It was a mixed bag. Again very nice first time to the island. I hope fo more nightlife, events in the resort, a cleaner beach, and more food variety. "
"The staff was not welcoming especially the front desk. The staff is unresponsive to phone calls. It took hours to get a blow dryer. During the trip my key band stopped working. The first question I was asked, were you suppose to check out today. When I still had several days left of the trip. I was truly disappointed in the trip. "
"The place was good to sleep an the personal was very kind and willing to help. The breakfast was ok. The worst part of the stay was the room cleaness, we found 2 hair balls from previous guests. The room is a bit outdated but functional."
"The staff were so very friendly and helpful. It is well maintained and is a nice quiet place to stay. We really appreciated the options of the pool, lagoon and ocean beach."
"Taxi driver told me not the best location but was OK for overnight waiting on connecting flight. Hotel and staff were really great, very friendly and helpful. Would have liked a chair in my room but other than that it was really good "
Courtyard by Marriott Nassau Downtown/Junkanoo Beach
8/10 Good
"The staff at this hotel were A1! So friendly and helpful. The lobby and pool areas were great, although the street noise when by the pool can be pretty excessive. The rooms were a standard hotel room with newer heat pump-style cooling unit and “hardwood” floors, not carpet. The hallways were the only area needing a good amount of cleaning or redoing. This hotel is in a great location too! Don’t forget, you get what you pay for and this one isn’t too expensive. "
"The property is aged, i felt it was a clean room (man clean) my wife was on the fence in that category. The toilet flushing button had some cleanser (blue stuff) on the button. Breakfast filled the void, hot items were tasty and warm, lots of cold options as well. Coffee was quite watery. The staff were very friendly, and helpful with good advice for local attractions. It’s a great hotel location wise…. Very close to the cruise ships and ‘downtown’. 15 minutes to the airport. The time of season we were here (end of March) the hotel pool is in the courtyard and sun tanning window is short (due to shade!) I’d stay here again. "
