"Great hotel to stay in if you're in Altavista or need a place to stay overnight on a road trip. The breakfast has good options...eggs, sausage or bacon, breakfast sandwich, yogurt, toast, biscuits, muffins, danishes, waffle maker, coffee with plain, vanilla or hazelnut creamers...can you tell a good breakfast is important to me!??!?!
The room itself is no frills, but the flooring is nice! Not carpet with stains, but a nice kind of engineered wood hybrid with a dark stain finish. The bathroom had nice smooth tile flooring...everything felt clean and spic and span! The bed and pillows were comfortable and I was able to get a good night's sleep both nights we stayed there.
All of the staff were excellent. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a good one.
All-in-all, this is a great option for staying in Altavista. Really helped to be close to my dad while visiting him in Autumn Care of Altavista...an excellent nursing home option if needed for your loved one."
"Everything is always perfect at Berry Hill Resort. They are accommodating with early and late check-outs w previous notice. There are many places so see on site such as displays of the history of Berry Hill, a historical family cemetery which is interesting, if you like history. Dogs are welcome and there are fields for walk. Original cabins are on-site which compliment the historical home with its massive pillars and beautiful rooms. Berry Hill also hosts indoor and outdoor weddings which become magical, exquisite events with forever memories."
"Entire hotel smelled of weed. Only half the lamps had bulbs. The tv didnt work. The fridge only half worked. Sorry excuse of a hotel even for one night."
"Beds were comfortable a the main room was clean. However the bathroom was not the cleanest. Shower hadn’t been fully cleaned and there is terrible water pressure. The AC worked well but was incredibly loud at certain times. Would wake us up each night. Staff was absolutely incredible and very kind. "
"No ice. Didn’t clean or refill coffee station. Didn’t make bed or vacuum. Visible drip stains on wallpaper never cleaned. Smelled of cigarettes and marijuana throughout hotel."
