"We stayed in a tree top bure (no AC but plentiful louvres and ceiling fan) late June so temperatures were fine and the bure had a fabulous view which we never tired of. We are late 60s and were happy to climb a few steps to get such a view! Comfortable bed, functional (a little tired but clean) bathroom. Well cleaned daily.
Staff are awesome, very friendly, happy and helpful. Our hobby is snorkeling and there is quite good coral and fish towards the Blue Lagoon part of the beach. We really enjoyed the afternoon snorkel trips where we saw pristine coral and sea life nearby! So if you really want good snorkeling be willing to do the afternoon trips, well worth while. Thanks Moses!
We would like to return next winter, so that tells you how we rate it.
Thanks Nanuya Island Resort."
"This resort is beyond amazing! When they say they will make you feel like family, they mean it. When I left I was sad and it was hard to go. The staff truly makes you feel like you are home."
"We really enjoyed our stay at Mantaray Island Resort! We were in a Seaside Bure, only steps from the water and epic snorkeling- the best “house reef” snorkeling on the Yasawa Islands that we experienced. We enjoyed the snorkeling with manta rays and the delicious food. My only challenge was that some kind of bug ate the backs of my legs A LOT when I sat on the lounge chairs by the pool. One week later, I’m still struggling with those bites. I hope they replace those cushions soon- they were pretty worn out in addition to being infested. That certainly wouldn’t stop me from returning!"
"We had a great stay overall. The manta rays were absolutely incredible, and the coral gardens are some of the best you’ll find. The food was excellent, although the cocktails varied depending on who was making them.
The staff were very friendly, and it was lovely being recognised after a few days. Virokai even remembered my name, which made the experience feel personal and welcoming.
A few practical improvements would make the stay even better. An information sheet in the bure would be helpful — explaining how lunch and dinner work, what the red coconut is for, and what to expect with cleaning. Cleaning wasn’t consistent during our stay; our friends received fresh towels and sheets halfway through the week, while we had to request clean towels ourselves.
The bure was comfortable overall, but the bed was too firm for our liking, and the roof could use a bit of TLC.
If you’re coming for manta rays and stunning coral reef gardens, this is absolutely the right resort."
"We loved the resort: the facilities, the food, the activities, and the kind staff. However, this was the most money I have ever paid to stay anywhere considering the cost of the accommodations and the compulsory meal plan, and I was really seeking peace and quiet after a very hard year of teaching. Unfortunately, our beautiful yurt was right next to the construction site of a new building, and there was loud construction noise all day every day. I would have appreciated a little acknowledgment of that. An apology, a free cocktail or something. Additionally, there were two expensive incorrect charges on our bill. I respectfully spoke up about it, and they corrected the error, but I felt like I got dirty looks for asking them to double check our bar receipts to confirm the error. This place already stretched my budget, so I found that a bit disappointing. Check your bill carefully! All that said, we did enjoy our stay and are grateful for the experience."
"We had wonderful stay - so peaceful and relaxing. A bit windy when we stayed there, but house reef is protected and can be explored regardless. People who run it are very welcoming, warm and trying to please you. We felt like a part of family and would like to come back"
"Stayed here for 9 nights in the oceanfront bungalow and loved the family atmosphere, the quiet walks on the beach and the beautiful sunsets. This is not a fancy resort but is great value. Beds are comfortable, rooms were simple but clean. There is an excellent reef in front for snorkeling and this is very close to the manta ray migration route. The food is delicious, healthy and very plentiful. You can buy beer and wine at the bar and rent snorkeling gear. We are a retired couple but met lots of young people and families from all over the world."
