"Hotel was like a jig saw puzzle with lots of stairways and areas. Still had construction going on. Rooms were very nice but no privacy unless you close your curtains. Room safes did not work in either of our rooms. You cannot flush toilet paper due to old pipes. Area did not feel very safe but we did not need to leave the hotel without a guide since the dining in the hotel was great. Overall I would recommend this hotel. "

"The Hotel Basilica is great! It’s in an old and well-preserved building with courtyards, comfortable public spaces and lots of plants and art. It’s only a few minutes walk from all of the main sights of colonial Quito. The best part of Hotel Basilica is the staff. "This has to be my favorite hotel in Quito! The location is centered only a few blocks from La Plaza Grande and accessible to everything! The owners were extremely friendly and hospitable! The breakfast that comes with the rate was top notch for a continental breakfast! I was in a beautiful room with a balcony that looked out to the Cathedral and the surrounding streets. The hotel is safe and the staff will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs. This will be my hotel of choice every time I stay in Quito!"
