"A little dated, could use some TLC. But the location is superb! With a little updating I’d easily feel good about spending double what I did for my stay!"
"We did not stay. Large hole in wall, paint coating on ceiling was falling down bed mattress had urine stain and pillow and pillow case had blood residue. As a result we refused to stay."
"It was just bad. Our balcony door wouldn’t open. We only realized this after we had settled in. We were only at the hotel for one evening and it was disappointing. Breakfast yesterday was also a no-go. We waited for 20 mins to be seated before we decided to leave. There were only 2 tables of people eating and the staff didn’t even acknowledge that there were people awaiting seating. It was weird.
On a positive note, the air conditioning was more than adequate."
"I reserved a room that was supposed to have a couch as well. While the room was acceptable looking, it was small and only had a chair wedged between the wall and the queen sized bed and no couch. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and with my bad back I could hardly walk the next day, and when I spoke with the staff, I learned there were no other rooms for me to move. The shower had empty soap and shampoo containers on the wall. I checked out of the hotel after my first full night, to get a more acceptable room and more comfortable bed and expected I would receive a credit for the remaining two nights that I did not stay at the Candlewood Suites, but the clerk told me she could not credit for the remaining two nights and that I would have to contact Expedia. I booked a room at another hotel down the road, also using Expedia. When I contacted Expedia to inform them of the unacceptable room and inaccurate description of what I paid for, they stated they would contact the manager to attempt to obtain a refund for the two nights that I did not stay in The Candlewood Suites. I was contacted a day later and informed I would not receive any credit for the two nights that I did not stay. I would not recommend staying in this hotel unless you expecting a subpar experience. Additionally they do not provide even a continental breakfast like most other hotels."
"Hampton Hotels gave me very good impression in the past, but this one made me very disappointed.
To my surprise, the bathroom only includes one sink and doesn’t have any counter to put cups, soak and other items. I had to flush two times to clean the toilet.
I woke up at midnight by click-click noise like a theft trying to open the door and later on I figured it came from the refrigerator starting. I had to turn it off the next night.
The breakfast includes a few options but some foods are salty. Nobody came to room to take away the garbage.
Not everything was negative, The staff in this hotel were nice and the location is close to the seaside."
"The stay was very good. Staff was more than helpful especially Patina. She went above and beyond Establishment was clean and quiet. Will definitely stay there again. Again, special thanks to Patina."
"We did not get the room that we booked through expedia. I can't get any money back for my suite that we booked because we went through a 3rd party. Now, I have to got back to expedia to dispute this because it was their fault. They booked a room that wasn't even available. We didn't know until we got to the hotel. We had to pay for a second room so the others could have room to sleep. They did give us a little discount but still not enough to make up for the amount we spent on the riverview balcony suite that we paid for. It was very disappointing."
