We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was very close to Penn Station so we only had to walk around 5 minutes from the station to the hotel. The lady working the front desk was very kind. The room was small and so were the beds but it is New York after all, just be aware you may not have a lot of space (or table space) for your luggage. The beds were very comfortable, I enjoyed the fluffy pillows. The room was very clean, the sheets and mattress appeared brand new even. Some objects had a bit of wear and tear but nothing terribly bad. The bathroom wasn't bad, I liked the shampoo and conditioner provided. Breakfast was good, though I will say if you are staying Mon-Fri, be sure to get there early - they stop bringing new food out after 9:30 and it got very busy at these times. Food was okay, just your average hotel breakfast - definitely not the best I had but it was free. The area around the hotel was nice, very popular restaurants nearby and Nordstrom rack is right down the road. Probably a 15min walk to Times Square. There is a sketchy part right by the hotel (under the scaffolding, by the convenience stores) so I would not pass by there at night. That being said, the hotel still felt perfectly safe. It's a city after all and we never saw anything bad. The hotel is probably a 20-30 min walk from everything touristy in the city. We enjoyed our stay. It wasn't the most glamorous or elegant hotel but it was clean and comfortable - that's all we could ask for!
