"The room was spacious (we were in grand room 7), had access to a balcony, was clean (though dated) and the bed was extremely comfortable. As the check in is done by bar staff, there wasn’t a lot of help or guidance as to what to do in the area or places to eat. The bistro at the hotel had great food and a great nearby cafe (Xtraction) where we went for breakfast. Whilst there was a kettle and toaster, there were only two coffee mugs and two glasses (which were used to hold the milk packets in the fridge ). No plates or cutlery, besides one teaspoon. There was nothing to wash/dry the dishes with. But whilst spartan, it was comfortable and we’d stay there again (we now know what to bring). It was very close to Newcastle beach."
