"I wish I could rate it higher, and in a way maybe I should, as you get what you pay for with National 9 Placerville. First, the overwhelming positive: amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The individuals that work there are wonderful people. I really appreciate them and their help during my stay. The room was also clean enough, no complaints there. The location is good, not great, but still good---adjacent to plenty to eat, even a good grocery store, and not far from the center of town. The water pressure from the shower was excellent, something most hotels and motels struggle with. Great shower. All that said, this is truly a bare bones motel. It is really just a place to sleep, which is fine. No hair dryer was a downside for my wife, but the biggest problem was the bed itself. The mattress is wildly uncomfortable and the pillows are paper thin. I had to use a jacket under my pillow to give it any volume to provide any real level of comfort. Make sure you are DEAD tired before going to sleep. The curtains also let in a bit too much light, the room wasn't able to get dark enough. Older building as well. If not for the mattress, I'd consider staying here again. If you can sleep on anything/anywhere though, consider them. Again, super friendly people, clean room, powerful shower and good location still helps. Price is right, too. If they had good mattresses, I'd give the place 5 stars honestly. I still thank them for a decent stay."

"No photos do the Grand Reserve the true justice it deserves as one of the memorable stays of mine for the past twenty years! The villa was perched in the middle of a vineyard, across a bridge in the rolling hills of Plymouth. We were checked in personally by Russ who had prepared a charcuterie board for our arrival in the room. The room was well appointed and comfortable, and views of vines from two directions. The common areas include a courtyard, large great room and beautiful patio area with two firepits and lots of seating. My wife has several dietary restrictions, but breakfast both mornings was designed to accommodate her needs and wow our palates! It was entirely unexpected to be as good as it was! Do yourself a favor and book at this property- it was a truly memorable experience from start to finish."

"We stay here every year for a local event. The bathrooms have been updated with nice tile and a selection of pillows on a comfortable bed. It’s nice to have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker in each room. The owners are very nice and always a pleasure to see. It is an older motel so expect new and old amenities. It is comfortable and convenient. Will absolutely stay again."

"Pretty room with beautiful views and back patio. Breakfast disappointing, just a croissant sandwich and bad orange juice. Keurig available, but no brewed coffee. No good reading chair in room."

"We stayed in a nice, large room. It has two sink areas, a large closet for hanging clothes, couch with table & lamp, useful dresser/desk/tv combo. The art is nice. It has plenty of space but is utilitarian. One comfy arm chair and an area rug on the floor would make it cozy. It snowed overnight and the outdoor stairs to the second floor had significant snow on them. It would be safer for the staff to keep those clear of snow."
