We had a great stay in this hotel - the staff were very friendly, and although we had an issue with our shower, this was quickly resolved while we were out for the day. The hotel is in an ideal location, close to the beach and train station - would definitely recommend!

Good value for money

Good value for money. Great location, walking distance to the city and just a few blocks from the beach. We had booked an apartment and was upgraded to an ever larger apartment on arrival. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are clean. The sofa bed is ok for a few nights, but a little squeaky. I would stay here again.

Very spacious room. Fantastic staff. Upon checking in, I was told that I can have my room cleaned once during my stay and that I would need to tell the reception one day in advance of the day I need the cleaning. The cleaning was excellent and the cleaners even arranged for a plumber to fix a problem with the shower in my room. Really convenient location.

Location was great with a short walk to the beach. Parking on site was nice, but make sure to have a small vehicle. Air conditioning wasn't working. They did provide fans when we asked about the room temperature.

My daughter and I stayed 3 nights.... The hotel is a great place to stay! The room was very quiet and provided lots of space to spread out and enjoy anytime spent in the room! A mini kitchen was perfect for a few quick meals (with a small grocery just 1 block away!). Would be nice if the hotel had a towel in the kitchen for drying the dishes though. The hotel was just 3 blocks for the seaside which was a quick walk. Staff were great. Would recommend and would definitely stay there again.

The location was perfect and the room was spacious enough accommodate my family. The parking space was not enough that it needs reserve a space in advance. The parking area is narrow and it will get you in trouble if you bring a giant SUV.

Our second stay in the Goldstar was even better than the first (except they no longer have the lovely pool). We had a two room suite, which was well equipped, comfortable and reasonably quiet. Cleaning services are available if required. The location is perfect for the beach and access to the many shopping areas and restaurants. It's only about a 10 minute walk to the central train station if you want to visit nearby resorts, such as the wonderful Beaulieu sur Mer, Villefranche, Antibes etc. Another advantage is that it is very close to Alsace Lorraine tram station, which is a few stops away from the airport. We love it.

We loved the location and the quiet. We were three so the suite style set up gave us much needed room-with a wonderfully spacious bathroom! The only thing we missed was no restaurant for early coffee or breakfast/just a coffee machine in the lobby.They did not have updated coffee machines in the room which made it feel a bit/ little outdated with old coffee pots being provided. Good coffee machines have become a standard and was definitely missed here. The room and beds were great--really comfortable. If you are looking for quiet and comfort--you'll be happy!

Nice service. Great location with dining options, proximity to the beach and grocery store. Nice room / suite, but the electric socket covers (wall plate) were not properly fixed (none of them) - they would fall from the weight of the cables plugged. The parking lot under the building has extremely narrow passages - very high risk of scraping any car other than mini coopers. There is a Meyer Parking down the street that maybe better.

A clean spacious comfortable room but I believe this property needs some serious remodeling and upgrading to be a 4 star property. There was a big stain on the couch in the main area that we ended up putting a bedding sheet on it to cover it. I will give it 3 out of 5.

Went back to Nice and to this hotel after 12 years. Chose to return to this place because we were happy with the spaciousness and mini kitchen. We were upgraded to a bigger one bedroom suite which was huge. We brought food to eat in for dinner a couple of nights and so made good use of the kitchen facilities: microwave, plates and dishwasher. The chairs by the little dining table were so comfortable we didn't even use the couch. Bathroom was big with a separate toilet. There was no conditioner or lotion so we bought conditioner. We were not explained the housekeeping process during check-in, so we were surprised to find the suite not cleaned the next day. It is complimentary once every 3 days so we requested it for the second day of our 3 night stay. Location is excellent, a few blocks from the beach and the area is full of restaurants, mini markets, a few blocks from a carrefour and boulangerie. It's a slightly long walk to the old town area. The staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was quiet. Some streetnoise late into Saturday night but nothing bad. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would come back here if we're in Nice again! Cons: We'd have liked a coffee machine in the kitchen especially since we were eating breakfast in every morning.

A good experience

We stayed in room 208. Location is good. In the center of Nice, close to the beach, the Promenade, many restaurants and shops. There's a good grocery store nearby. If you do not speak French, most of the shops and restaurants have people who speak English. Quiet, easy to sleep, air conditioning works well, so does hot water. The suite was good and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. But there were a few little things that, if added, would have made it excellent. So I am adding this to help the owners. First, when I booked the room it said that bath robes were available upon request. When I checked in, they said they had no bath robes. Second, there are a few small details that would help greatly improve the experience. I say this about almost every hotel, but there are never enough hooks or racks to dry towels. No hook or ring to hang the hand towel near the sink. It's such a quick and inexpensive thing, why don't hotels provide them? Also, the bath/shower has no curtain or enclosure. A small bath mat and no enclosure means a slippery floor which is a hazard. Water gets everywhere, so one has to be careful. The electric towel rack is nice, but not big enough for 2 towels folded in half. You need to fold them by quarter width-wise and stuff them into the space. The apartment has a small kitchenette, with a two-burner range and a microwave, impossible to wash dishes without hitting your head. A small toaster oven would good. Cleaning once a week. Need more hangers for clothes.
Bath/shower with no curtain or enclosure meant water on the floor ... Be careful!
Having to stuff towels on the drying rack because it is too narrow.
The kitchenette with no oven and the sink in the corner making hand-washing difficult.
Not enough hangers meant draping clothes over the chairs.
