"When I booked the property, I was given the impression that I was booking a 3 bedroom property, only to arrive to 2 bedrooms. The villa had not been cleaned when we arrived which was at 10pm. We found the previous guest had forgotten several items inside, surfaces were dusty, and the fan in the living room was not working. "Lovely, helpful staff and a great location, right by the water where you look down on everyday life, dhows, donkeys and all. Quiet garden with pool and sunloungers. Excellent rooftop restaurant. 30 minute walk to Lamu or short boatride. Large, traditional rooms so don't expect TVs. "

"Lamu House is a lovely historic hotel right on the harbor front - top floor bedrooms facing the water are the best with cooling breezes. The staff could not be friendlier and the restaurant is tasty and popular. If you want an authentic experience of Lamu the town, this is the place . It is not a luxury resort type establishment like the ones out of town. "
