"My stay at the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center started on a positive note. The check-in process was smooth, seamless, and efficient, and the staff at the front desk were welcoming and professional. The room was nice, spacious, and comfortable. My experience at The Vineyard restaurant was extremely disappointing. I went downstairs for a nice breakfast and an Irish coffee. However, when I placed my order, the server made it clear that she DID NOT KNOW what an Irish coffee was and she was unaware that it was offered on the menu. She said she would have to call her manager to ask her about it. There appeared to be considerable confusion about the drink. I initially told the hostess to cancel the order because what should have been a simple request seemed to be creating unnecessary difficulty. When the server came out to apologize for the Irish coffee being so late, she stated, “but the bar doesn’t open till 11.” What I had hoped would be a small morning indulgence turned out to be quite disappointing. I then told the waitress to cancel the Irish coffee and make it a hot chocolate. She stood there dumbfounded. I told her they were making it way too complicated to please just cancel the order and make it a hot chocolate. Overall, the hotel itself was comfortable, and the check-in experience was excellent. However, my experience with The Vineyard restaurant prevented the stay from meeting the level of service I typically expect from a Hilton property."
