"Perfect location for exploring Ljubljana. Dozens of restaurants are within a few blocks, and it’s only a short walk to the scenic riverfront lined with beautiful historic buildings. Everything is just steps from the front door.
This is a quaint hotel with plenty of charm and a few quirks. As long as you don’t expect or require a typical American hotel room, you’ll likely enjoy your stay.
We stayed on the very top floor, which meant lots of stairs—and I stress, lots of narrow, winding stairs! It was difficult for my mother, but that was my fault for not reading the description more carefully. The staff helped us with our luggage, which we really appreciated.
Our attic room had two double beds tucked beneath the slanted roofline, along with two small rooms, each with a twin bed. The double beds under the eaves required ducking to get into. While they technically sleep two, I wouldn’t recommend it since each bed can only be accessed from one side.
The shower was tiny and outdated, but it was clean, and the rooms were clean as well. The hotel’s character, the friendliness of the staff, and the outstanding location made it an endearing place to stay. It felt like we were guests in a historic, timeworn, and well-loved home of a benevolent relative.
If you’re open-minded and can embrace a few idiosyncrasies and lots of stairs as part of your adventure, you’ll enjoy the attic room. You’ll most certainly enjoy the location and staff."
