"The suite was clean, spacious and equipped with the absolute basics in terms of kitchen bits and bobs. Amazingly there was a top loader washing machine! You could always ask for other items, staff and manager were especially helpful. Useful contacts were all displayed at the reception, taxi, breakfast lunch and dinner available to order. The beech is approx 1 mile and walked to it most days. Good selection of restaurants on the beechfront and along the way, plus shops, wine/beer and pharmacies....

Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa

"We stayed here for 1 night before travelling back to Mumbai, me and my 11 yo son. The hotel is on beautiful grounds and spread out with lots of low rise bungalows. We were given a 1st floor room with a beautiful view of the sea. If you want a week beach holiday, this would be a lovely place, you could stay here happily. The room was lovely and clean. There were a few bungalows being renovated so it would have been upsetting to be in one of the bungalows nearby with drilling and building works going on all day. Having been to 6 other hotels on our stay we had come accustomed to the amazing service in India, so was disappointed with the service at this hotel, as this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. At breakfast we were totally ignored, at the pool bar we stood there for about 15 minutes waiting, the pool staff weren't overly friendly. We came here as it listed a lot of activities for my son to do, but most of these weren't on, so there was just a zipline and wall climb, which took about 15 minutes. Couldn't find the football and no zorbing in the pool. Prices for food and drink here were extremely expensive, especially when you aren't getting the service. You can walk along the beach and there are lots of restaurants to eat at. Outside is a baskins robbins and we ate at a lovely restaurant outside the gates by the roundabout. Overall it is probably a nice place to stay for a family holiday if you get all inclusive but we wouldn't stay again."

"A beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean. A large wedding departed the day we checked in and another checked in while we were there. They book the majority of the hotel, so it does feel a bit like normal guests are surplus. Areas sectioned off, music pounding, wedding guests returning late at night, waking us. Our Air con broke, we told front desk, three hours later nobody had come, had to call again and someone was sent. Keys to our room stopped working so we were stuck in the hallway, again three calls and 40 mins for someone to bring new keys ( we were just out of the pool, so didn’t want to go to reception) My husband used the spa, which he said was perfect, but again, no one to help/assist on where to go once he checked in. Everything just felt a little like a battle, hiccups happen but it’s how they are resolved that leaves an impression."

"Perfect place to relax in historic settings with great views. The staff is top notch and the included breakfast had lots of fresh made options besides the standard buffet fare. Take time to explore the grounds for great views and the next door Taj property. The spa was luxuriously relaxing with a sauna and steam room. Convenient shuttles and buggies are available but I enjoyed wandering on foot and getting my steps in. The fort and beach below are prominently visible from around the property (and my well appointed room) and also easily accessed to explore further. A must do for a classic heritage-style experience. The restaurants and bar were great. The concierge also helped arrange for a car to explore Old Goa. Relaxing getaway convenient from both Goa airports."

"Facilities were good, clean rooms. Short walk to the beach. Cleanliness of the tables in the restaurant was not great (placemats were stained from previous guests and never saw anyone clean the tables with disinfectant between sittings). Would recommend getting breakfast early as when we went late we noticed that some food items were running low and not always topped up."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Taj Horizon. Initially I thought I should have gone further South but once we got yo the Hotel it is a perfect location. The staff was incredible and there was always someone wanting to know how the stay was going and if they could assist with anything to make the stay even more comfortable. It was so nice of the hotel to also provide packed hot breakfast for three of us for our early morning departure. I’ve lived in USA 40+ years and stayed at many nice hotels but nothing compares to the hospitality and service you get in India. Hat’s off to all the staff at mostly all Hotels. The breakfast teams were great and so was the dinner buffet and staff. Thank you for the wonderful stay and hope to come again to Goa and stay once more in the Sea face rooms!"

"Staff were highly responsive to our needs and very helpful. Not everyone’s names are known but the accommodation manager Sylvester was exceptionally helpful as was Lita at Check out and hotel management. Pool is very nice as is the beach. WiFi can be difficult to connect to but once connected is very good. There are two restaurants, one North Indian and a larger restaurant where breakfasts and dinner are served. Food is good in both though waiting times in the Seagull restaurant can be long. If going for breakfast I would recommend going in the earlier hours to get a table quickly. Spa is good and the people are friendly. It is a very good location for families with small children and it is very clean. Good value for money and highly recommended."
