This was my fourth time staying at this hotel, and it was fine (and the rate was good) but the breakfast used to be great, but since the switch away from La Quinta it's become pretty forgettable, which was disappointing.

This is an old building and it feels it. The breakfast offering was very sparse. The only fresh food available was an orange and no protein options. The staff was very unhelpful/unfriendly. The linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. Parking is available on-site.

Nice hotel near UC Berkeley. Plenty of parking and the hotel appears well maintained. The manager is nice and very accommodating. They have coffee all day long and it has a good taste. Neighborhood has small shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop steps away and bus #51B takes you straight to UC Berkeley’s historic entrance; avoid the parking headaches. We will return to this hotel. Thank you.

You get what you pay for. Worth what I paid around 160 a night no more. Tv sucks ac sucks, front desk people no where to be found at times, no answer on phone. Runs on a skeleton crew. House cleaning awning excellent, no bed bugs, pretty clean. Parking lot would benefit from a front gate with a passcode or room key system to secure it, its strange that they close one gate and there is no gate on the other side. I would not stay here again based on the poor ac and inability to open the sliding balcony door more than a crack and enjoy the cool fresh Berkeley air. Ac really did not work, crappy old wall unit not capable of cooling even on low setting. TVs old dated barely work. But no bed bugs that is great.

The reviews are true. The internet is spotty, and our TV didn't work. There was parking in the front of the building and the back. It was fine but there is no security. This would be ok if the neighborhood was good but it isn't the greatest. Breakfast was decent. The whole place is clean. The cucumber water and free coffee in the lobby is a nice touch. All in all it worked for the price.

With the mosaics on the entry floor this property was once a gem. It has not been updated and looks like it has been run down for years. This is the second time I came. After seeing the underlying bed sheets stained so badly i didn’t stay but I had little choice this time since I booked through Expedia and paid already. Sad the owners can’t invest and invest and modernize this great property. Additionally the window curtains are badly stained and the breakfast serves a paucity of choices. On the plus side the staff does their best to help and welcome you. It’s not their fault in any way the property is so retro.
