Castello Dal Pozzo is a lovely historical property on lovely grounds. We were given an upgraded room and sparkling wine on arrival. However, the quaint room in the tower had problems with the air conditioning/heating system. It was not working correctly (no cooling on first night, but system gurgled so loudly that it sounded like a waterfall); when we informed staff the next day, they tried to fix it, but when we returned in the evening it was instead blowing hot air and still gurgling a loudly as before - room temp was up to 26C and climbing on warm May evening. We ended up asking staff to turn off the system, which stopped the hot air from blowing, but did not stop the noise. We slept with windows open both nights, but stink bugs flew in by the many dozens.

Needs some improvement
The property is AMAZING...it is a castle nestled on beautiful grounds with paths/trees, etc. They have a pool and three restaurants. However, the rooms were a bit tired and needed some remodeling. With some improvements, the place can be a nice location near Lake Maggiore to visit!

Very nice place, a little hard to find from the beginning, quiet and very nice staff. The classification of the rooms is a little strange, historical rooms being the cheapest ones. Fantastic dinners at Le Fief, the in-house restaurant.

The hotel is exquisitely furnished with marble, Venetian chandeliers, tapestries and fine fabrics. The staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine with historical significance. About 30 minutes from MXP in a quaint small town. Certainly beats the standard stay in a generic airport hotel and well worth the extra time to drive even if only for one night.

The property was amazing! We had a great stay, the rooms were very comfortable and well appointed, and the breakfast was amazing! Unfortunately, it wasn’t clear that the rooms I was booking were not in the castle itself! And it was a little disappointing that the bars and restaurants don’t have a view of the lake! But we would definitely come back, and also spend more time in the lovely village of Arona!

I left behind a valuable watch. I called and they found the watch and shipped it home to Miami. Very courteous friendly and knowledgeable reception staff. Best value 4/5 star romantic stay closeish to MXP
Hotel was in a classic Manor House as advertised, next to an even grander family castle (to which we were offered a tour). We would pisition it has having four stars until the spa and pool area are completed. The restaurant service was personalised and excellent, making up for the overly bright lighting which slightly diluted what would otherwise have been a romantic ambience.

Beautiful Hotel
We had a lovely stay at this hotel, everything was perfect, the room was beautiful with a great view of Lake Maggiore. It was also very quiet so we slept well. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant were also very good. Would highly recommend.

My stay at Castello Dal Pozzo was simply amazing. The hotel and surrounding area is gorgeous and the service was wonderful. The hotel staff was attentive and even went out of their way to accommodate an early check-in as we were leaving pretty early the next day. Our rooms were cleaned up and organized at some point while we were out in the city, and they even prepared "to go" breakfast bags for us! I wish I could have stayed longer. I am beyond grateful for their service and the experience!

Very nice hotel, not far from Lake Maggiore
Peaceful and relaxing hotel not far from Lake Maggiore, which is about 10 minutes away by car. The grounds of the hotel which surround the old castello are extensive and beautiful. Lovely to sit on the terrace of the wine bar at the castello and take in the view of the gardens. Note that the wine bar is only open from 5pm and didn't think that the piped cafe club music on the wine bar terrace suited the surroundings. Overall a very pleasant stay and the staff are first class.

Absolutely lovely but remote
The hotel is lovely. We had a beautiful junior suite overlooking the lake (ok, from a distance but still overlooking). Lovely fruit bowl awaited us and the heated towel rack is always nice. The property is beautiful, with walled in gardens and a castle. The breakfast was very nice and varied. Parking is on site in an enclosed garage which is very easy to manage. If you're looking to get away from it all, and have a car, this might be a great choice. The property is really remote, with about a 10 min drive to the lake and the town of Arona. You have to drive up very narrow streets in order to get in and out. Buyer beware, there's nothing to walk to - you have to drive each day. Also, although you have a tv in your room, the stations are only in Italian. We were a bit surprised as this hotel prides itself on being award winning, that they wouldn't have the satellite that would give you a few (one?) station in English. Again, great if you want to get away from it all.

On the way to LAKE Como. Was a nice break and great time of relaxing. Everyone treated us royally. The welcome was one of the best every. Everything was great and the time that night in the Restaurant was great. Beautiful presentation. Food was too expensive for what you got and the waiters got the food mixed up, but still a memorable night. The grounds are beautiful and very relaxing.

hotel catering staff very good but the hotel is 65km out of Milan, 35km from mxp airport with no direct train link. taxi from mxp exorbitant and taxis from arona to hotel are extortionate and stop operating around 8pm. hotel no good unless you are visiting arona or oleggio castello only. hotel is too expensive for what it is. meals in hotel restaurant good but very expensive. this is one hotel to avoid. reception staff clueless about best way to get to hotel from mxp airport.

It was amazing! A romantic getaway at an Itallian castle with five star food, staff and accommodations. Beautiful castle grounds with a little wine bar for the evenings, set in the little village of Ollegio Castello and only a moment away from Arona and the shores of lake Maggiore for fine dining, excellent shopping and great site seeing.

Fairytale Castle - Perfection
What more can I say than our stay was perfect in every single way. We stayed one night and left wishing we were staying forever. As we arrived we were greeted by an incredibly helpful member of staff who began our check in process, he then passed over to the reception team who completed this very speedy and efficient process. We had booked the castle as opposed to the main hotel (Palace) which was a few steps away in private gated grounds. The original staff member asked us to follow him in his car to show us where to park, we were just around the corner from the door but he would not let us walk or carry our cases ourselves, instead to drove us the small distance. This is where we first realised the service we were going to receive the remained of our stay would be exemplary and in fact second to none to anywhere in the world I have previously stayed. The staff didn't want you to lift a finger during your stay of it was something they could do then they wanted to do it for you, this didn't feel foreced and a problem for them, they were genuine and you really felt they were proud to make your stay the best it could be. We booked a massage but none of their usual people were available so they made arrangements for someone to come in and do this. Service at dinner and lunch was impeccable, so was the food which was beautiful and not lacking in portion size like you may expect in some fancy restaurants. I could go on and on about this place and how amazing it was but please go!

Very satisfied with the hotel but their restaurant Fief is mediocre. The adjoining Castello Dal Pozo is very nice, but there is nothing nearby, and it's best to have a car to get round.

This was a wonderful place for us to spend our last night in Europe. The hotel is wonderful, its as simple as that. The staff were outstanding. The location is the only thing that could be a draw back depending on what your looking for. If want somewhere that is in the middle of all the action this isnt the place but if your looking for a amazing place to stay for a quite getaway then this is the place for you. For us it wasnt a negative, it was so peaceful in beautiful area. We dined at the hotel and it was beautiful and the service was without fault. If you get the chance go for a walk in the gardens across the road. Amazing building and gardens. We loved this hotel and will definatly be back next time we are in the region, This hotel was all class.

One of the nicest places I have stayed!
Fantastic Place to stay! This is one of the best places I have ever stayed! The staff is superb! All other hotel staff members should be trained by the people that work this property. The property is spotless! They did not want me to roll my luggage on their floors, that is how clean it is. Stayed in the Palace (Pink) Property. They offered me a room in the Castle but I chose the Palace because I felt the bed looked more comfortable. The Castle is very classy. The Palace has extremely well appointed rooms. The bathroom made me feel like I was in a very expensive hotel. The morning breakfast was excellent! The food was very fresh, very good, and there was a lot of variety. I wish I would have taken the time to have dinner at this location. The property is very quite at night. It is located in a small sleepy little town about 10 minutes from Lake Maggorie. Do not miss the beautiful little town of Orta San Giulio on Lago (lake) d'Orta, an easy drive from this property. Love, Love, Love this Property! What a wonderful place!
