"The Majestic Garden has been our top choice for nearly 20 years during family trips to Disney, as our children grew up. The property was beautiful, clean, well maintained with friendly employees. The complimentary shuttles were a plus, and we felt safe staying here.
Last summer, I recommended the hotel to friends for our trip and was honestly embarrassed by how run down the rooms had become, particularly on the second floor. To be fair, over the years we often ended up in upgraded first-floor rooms with access to the pool or gardens, which may have shaped our previous experiences.
Last week, my husband and I stayed again and were placed in an older third-floor room. It felt dingy, outdated, and had a noticeable mildew odor. The windows were filthy (had to wash my hands after opening) & uneven floors. Looking around the lobby during our stay, I realized very little appears to have been updated over the years and the gardens were lacking.
At $26 per person the breakfast buffet was comparable to a basic complimentary continental breakfast offered at budget motels, and being charged an additional $2 for a banana was honestly laughable.
As of last month guests are now required to wear purple plastic wristbands for the complimentary shuttle- as though you're at a county fair- further cheapening the experience. If lost, there is a $12 replacement fee, and they must remain attached to you throughout the stay.
Sadly, I think it may be time for us to move on to alternative lodging"
