"Where to start… arrived having booked and paid for the gite with a kitchen for the two of us and our dog. We are told it’s not available and we’ve been given a room in the main house. That was ok with us (though meant we had to eat sandwiches) but there was no apology or even good customer attitude - just a sense that we had really put them out by booking a room the day before they had a wedding on.
We were then shown the room and told not to touch some of the beds as they were already made up for the wedding!! General horror that we had a dog and he wasn’t to touch anything basically.
The room itself - plug sockets hanging off the wall, dusty, curtain rail broken. There is basically no sound proofing so we could hear every word spoken by our next door neighbours and other guests.
Didn’t complain about any of this by the way but then checking out was icing on the cake - we were asked to pay a supplement for our dog. Now usually of course I’m happy to do this. But when we’ve been given a room that we didn’t book, not had a kitchen to cook in and not had breakfast really anyone with any customer service would have waived this fee surely?
She argued with us and was generally really unpleasant. Can’t understand the good reviews of this place honestly one of the worst we’ve ever stayed in. Oh and it’s not a language thing because I speak fluent French.
Also we were told not to park our car in the hotel car park as we would get blocked in so had to go and park in the villa"
