"We had the basics that we needed for a quick overnight stay. Some improvements needed on these: water from the shower doesn’t drain fully because of the floor angle, bedside tables was very dusty. Didn’t pay much so I guess can’t really expect a lot either. Good place to for an unprolonged stay. "

"My husband and I had a very pleasant two night stay at the Taupo Millenium. We stayed in a first floor one bed suite. Usual great service. Did not use the pool, sauna or spa on this occasion but have in past stays."

"The property is tired and dated. While it was relatively clean given age and state of buildings, there was very little upkeep to the grounds and gardens around the property and directly outside the unit. For example, the outdoor furniture was covered in dust - just plain dirty and with bird poop on the surface. There was rubbish in the little sad garden strip between the patio and the sad lawn that featured a pile of dog poop more or less straight in front of the step onto the lawn. Spider webs and dried leaf matter piles around the corners inside and out confirmed opinion of neglect. The we come to the pools themselves. Tired. Dated. Uninspiring surroundings and everything just feels past the used by date. I remember the heydays of the 1980's and it feels like nothing has happened on the upgrades and modernisation front since. Very disappointed overall and won't choose to stay again. The staff were pleasant and helpful but it felt bare minimum. There are much better options for accommodation and mineral pools in Taupo."

"Staff at reception were friendly, bed was uncomfortable, needs a new mattress, water pressure was not good, breakfast was average, was quite noisy with the people in the room next to us. Good location, off the road."

"We loved our stay and enjoyed the heated pool. It is central to many places on the north island. We would stay there again. "

"Check-in was smooth, although it was a busy day. Hotel facilities are fine, and heated pools are the highlight. We figured the wall-mounted heater wasn't working, but the room was naturally heated due to geothermal activities while the outside temperature was below 8 degrees Celsius. Breakfast was quite good and exceeded our expectations. Overall we can recommend the hotel for families travelling with young children, and it's a fair deal during the Easter break."
