"This was a journey break going from Punakaiki to Akaroa so it was only one night. We did the Devils Punchbowl at Arthur’s Pass before checking in and then the next day we did the Cave Stream Scenic Reserve (note: lambing has shut the stream exit from the cave Nov to Feb but continue around the path system to where the river flows into the cave system and you can get some great pictures without going in).
Back to the hotel - very friendly staff, simple menu for dinner and our lodge was well equipped and very comfortable.
(Say hello to the Moa’s)"

What are holiday rentals like in Otira?
Holiday rentals are privately owned properties you can book for a few days, or a quick weekend, in Otira. Holiday rentals offer amenities such as hot tubs, fire pits and patios so you'll feel just like you're staying in your own home. If you're concerned about cleanliness, holiday rentals can offer a sense of seclusion away from public hotel lifts and busy reception areas while still allowing you a great travel experience. You'll also have more space in a holiday rental than in a traditional hotel, which is another reason why a holiday rental is a popular option for a small group gathering.
