"This place is a treasure. It's in an exquisite valley in the far and quiet corner of Skye, and well worth the drive. Jane is warm, welcoming, and readily shares her trove of knowledge about Skye: places, people, activities, hikes. She's a superb cook and gracious hostess: many fine, fresh breakfast options, including the bread she bakes herself, and the best granola we have ever tasted, impressive assortments of fruits and berries, etc etc etc. Our suite was new and immaculate, with many well thought-out functional and aesthetic touches. "Doune Braes is very close to the Callanish standing stones, which makes it a super convenient location if the stones are on your itinerary! Everyone working at Doune Braes was extremely kind and helpful and the food (I had dinner and breakfast) was delicious. It is not a fancy accommodation, but the rooms are clean, spacious, and safe. Highly recommended if you are visiting Lewis and want to see the Callanish stones, particularly at sunrise or sunset!"
