"We had a lovely stay at Cuckoo Cottage and would happily return. The location is excellent for exploring the Peak District, with beautiful walks straight from the doorstep, including Lathkill Dale. "Staff were so helpful as I had injured my leg and prior on arriving I asked for a ground floor, they gave me me the very first one which was a great help. Breakfast was a bit slow this time but I think this was due to the volume of guests,but it was still delicious and it wasn’t a problem for us, The fill up stations are a lovely touch especially when you fancy something sweet with your tea, The staff are always very friendly and helpful we love staying here"

"Quick and friendly check-in. Easy parking registration. Lovely room but slightly odd lighting. Only 2 very small side lights by the bed and one small lamp in the corner of the desk. No overhead lights. Strange coloured lighting behind the bed. Overall, very dark and not so easy to read or work without natural light. Some construction work started at 6am in the morning outside the hotel with a delivery of a small crane which was very loud and woke me up which wasn't appreciated. Plus sides, comfy, clean bed, and lovely bathroom with walk-in shower. Fridge and big tv. Didn't have breakfast or used the restaurant. Otherwise would recommend."

"The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. Towels and bed linen were very white and clean. They found us a firm pillow. The hotel is old and full of character. The breakfast room was busy. Cloths and cutlery were clean and well presented. The sausage was a disappointment but the scrambled eggs were fine. Very good value."
