Over Haddon Holiday Rentals

"The room was on the ground floor facing the car park. This meant i had to keep the blind down the whole time, which gave it a prison cell feel! Aside from that, it was a clean room and was OK for a couple of nights. The breakfast isn't great but you can have a couple of helpings to fill you up. For the price, it's a decent hotel. "

"Room was clean and tidy on arrival However next day.. left ticket on door for my room to be cleaned.. the bed was not made up neatly.. just thrown up and pillows not put back in a tidy position.. I expected decent toiletries in bathroom.. no shampoo first two days.. one of the bedside lamps didn’t work.. bit of a health and safety issue for me.. as I get up during the night and didn’t expect this .. to not easy to navigate channels.. watched Netflix on my iPad for duration of stay. Breakfast was disappointing.. not enough healthy or fresh options.. eg dried fruits instead of fresh. I paid for breakfast before arriving.. but ended up only having one as I went to a local cafe where they had fresh produce which was much more suitable for my dietary needs.Also on pricing! I got charged €14 for 2 cups of coffee!! Ridiculous price for guests staying at your hotel.. Another problem I had was trying to find any information about the dinner menu and prices.. There should be information in the hotel rooms for guests so that they can make a decision as whether to reserve a table. Also no information about spa or gym in room! Second day however bed was made up more satisfactorily and Elemis toiletries were available In bathroom. 😊. Staff were varied.. looking smartly dressed.. but I have definitely been in other establishments where the staff are much more energetic and engaging with their customers. Sorry wouldn’t stay again unless some changes were made."

"I actually love this hotel, usually, but on this occasion I was put in a room next to the lifts so I literally did not sleep all night with the noise. Also, the basin in the bathroom did not drain well and smelled of rotten eggs. Room service was ok, they forgot the drink I called them back and got asked to call back so that was a faff. It was obvious there had been water ingress around the ceiling near the entrance to the bathroom which was a shame as rest of room felt quite new. The window on the bathroom was super old with many layers of old crusty paint - why have they spent so much renovating this hotel but left out some details. The staff are very helpful and very polite. This girl is normally my favourite hotel in Sheffield but it missed the mark on this occasion. "

"Great to be greeted at reception. Hotel very old but quirky and fun. Breakfast great. Parking but confusing. As hotel info states on site parking but we didn’t know which side to park other than there are signs for payment yet no machines. We were told not to worry but I did see a sign saying permit only so hope all ok "

"This hotel used to be a gem in Sheffield. No longer. Such a tired and aged hotel with ridiculously sparse rooms. I was staying in a very tired and boring suite. It didn’t even give me a bottle if water. No ornaments or decorations. Such a shame. "
