"Well they messed up my reservation and overcharged me but I didn’t complain and they lied about the breakfast it was only buffet style not like they advertised "
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tyler - University Area
4/10 Poor
"The hotel itself was fine and as expected. However, it was understaffed with one person at check in. She was nice, but couldn't handle the demand - the technology was not working, so I stood in line twice for over 20 minutes each time to be helped. My room was not ready at check in time and was asked to come back later or wait in the lobby, but did not feel comfortable staying in the common areas, because of what what really caused me to give a low review of my stay which was the sheer number of construction workers that had finished their shift for the day and were all over the property (at the end of the work day and through the evening). They were lounging in cars in the parking lot, sitting in the outdoor patio area listening to music and hanging around in the lobby. I do believe they were staying there, as they were all in the lobbing for breakfast the next morning, but as a female traveling alone, I did not feel safe. "
"I arrived to find a near empty parking lot but decided to give this hotel a chance. I entered the lobby. Greeted by the clerk. Check in was smoother than most. It was a very small lobby and dungenous hallway. Still thinking I’ll give it my best I continued to elevator. It was found to have stagnate odor, but thought it could be just at one area. Entered by room to see that the devour was minimal but needed lots of touch up painted trims. Bathroom door facing was literally screwed to the frame with about 10 screws. The corner of the room smelled like WET ANIMAL. Tried to overlook, but kept smelling it. Couldn’t make myself stay. I relocated to another chain. This will be my one and only experience with SPARK HOTELS. Texted property for a full refund and have yet to be contacted by anyone! Hoping if they see this someone will reach out. Stay was 4/15/26 room 408"
"Room was surprisingly very nice. Truly a suite. The receptionist was truly gracious and accommodating. The one thing I would warn potential guests is that the breakfast meat was mainly ham; if you don’t eat pork, make alternative plans. Personally I would totally book them again!"
"This hotel is older, not posh or fancy, but it met our needs. It was clean, very quiet and the air worked well. Close proximity to multiple restaurants. We stayed there 5 nights and for the price point of $58 for a suite we would stay there again."
