I rarely write reviews but this hotel is terrific. The staff goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is great. Two examples: 1) when I checked in the receptionist found me a great room in the second floor instead of the ground floor because I was a woman traveling alone, and 2) they arranged a late checkout to match my travel schedule with no hassle. It's rare to find such empathetic, customer- friendly service at hotels these days! Thank you!
Lovely property,in nice surroundings, close to Oxford centre, and a nice walk along the River Thames. The leisure facilities were fantastic. Nice to unwind in the sauna,or steam room, and have a nice swim. The only negative I would have ,is the pool is too shallow, which could be dangerous
Very good stay, we came for my girlfriends birthday. They kindly gave us a nicer room and got it ready early. Very warm. Our room had a few issues but nothing major. One sid eof the bed didnt have plu stockets and the shower wouldnt drain well. but was alovely stay and close to town centre.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
No shower
Shower had no pressure (at all). Maintenance tried to fix and couldnt. Suggested maybe changing rooms but we were only there for 24hrs so wanted to go and explore.
Room 221.
Modern, elegant hotel with good facilities including a pool, a good restaurant and a bar. Peaceful location with large grounds backing onto a riverside walk. Central Oxford with its colleges, museums, shops and restaurants is a short walk away. Plenty of parking (payable) including EV charge points. Staff are great - particular mention to Mali, Dina and Kashish who went the extra mile.
This hotel is set on a large park-like property just outside the Oxford city center. It’s a comfortable walk or an easy bus ride to the colleges and sights. There are a couple of decent pubs within walking distance. The parking was convenient. The hotel property is nice, good beds and all the expected niceties. The only noise at night was the animals in the field and owls.
Beautiful hotel - slow service at the bar/restaurant on first night at the hotel.
Hotel short staffed and it took a long time before someone acknowledged us and took our order

Expensive/overrated
Rather expensive for a very average hotel, good size room but lacking a refrigerator which is standard in many similar hotels. Quite loud scratching noise from air con grid area - I suspect it was mice or rats ?? Air con not functioning. Parking was very expensive, the hotel had a lot of outside space but had a £20 car park charge. An overpriced overrated hotel. Not recommended.
Beautiful hotel. It's a bit hard to tell from the photos, but it looks like a converted barn built of natural stone in a country setting with a view of horses and cows grazing nearby. Lovely gardens. Beautifully maintained and impeccable low key service. Restaurant food is wonderful and dining terrace a serene pleasure.
Excellent hotel with one of the few car parks within walking b distance of the center of Oxford. The food was excellent. Clearly they now have a chef with real skill. The only negative for us was the shower in the bath. This is something we live with but much prefer a walk in shower.
The stall shower was terrible - it looked elegant but it is too small for any normal human being, the curved doors opened just barely enough to get through. The curved doors were off their tracks and didn't seal. The floor was very slippery and needed the mat - thus the warning sign. The mat is rectangular and didn't fit the curved floor and the corners jammed in the doors. The faucets took a while to understand, meanwhile you were sprayed in the face and onto the floor with cold or hot water. We managed. There was plenty of room in the bathroom for a more conventional shower. The architect that specified the stall shower should have to use it. We used Taxi's to get to the town center. It is a long walk . We enjoyed the horses in the neighboring field and walked along the Thames. The river walk is close. We really enjoyed the property.
Overall great stay. I would go back.
Positives:
1. Great location. Just outside the city centre and walkable
2. Staff is excellent and super friendly
3. Nice swimming pool
4. Good restaurant
Negatives
1. The bed was so uncomfortable. It was inclined and my husband didn’t sleep well because he was under the impression he was going to roll over.
2. Parking should be included in the hotel stay
Beautiful property and staff with an eye towards providing high customer service without being overbearing. Close to Thames river walk with access to High Street Oxford sites, restaurants and shops. Plentiful dining options with talented chef. Onsite pool and spa isn’t huge, but offers many amenities and is well kept.
