"I arrived after 11 pm. Description says there is someone at the desk 24/7, but reality is there is phone, not a person. The person comes after you dial them on the phone. First room assignment smelled strongly of mold. Staff was kind enough to offer me an alternative that worked. I appreciated that, but honestly, the condition of this motel was not good, in general, for the price point. Again, the description said that there was free continental breakfast. There was a breakfast room, but I could find no hours of operation posted at the room. When I left the next morning around 7:30 am, the breakfast room was still dark. The room did have a refrigerator that I was grateful for.
But even with that, I will find another option in the future when driving this route and needing to stop for the night."
"Very friendly owner, fantastically clean property and clean room. We were talking about how we would actually go out of our way just to stay here or maybe stop by sometime again when we're visiting near the area to be away from the busier cities."
"Our stay here was ok. Room was clean and comfortable. It was very cool to stay in a peace of history with the hotel being from late 1800s. But when we booked the hotel there was a restaurant and bar that were supposed to be open and they were not, and were not notified. Just go somewhere for breakfast instead of the hotels. Also the gentleman running the place could not speak English, so it was hard to communicate. Overall we would stay here again. It is right in town, you can walk anywhere and your 15min from the caves."
"Our room had a leak from the upstairs unit over our unit over the toilet. My husband is a plumber and he knew it was a leak from the toilet upstairs and it was from dirty toilet water cause it leaked whenever they used the toilet. We were unable to move rooms as the hotel was booked. There was nothing they could do. They said they could look into a credit however when I attempted to talk to them again they didn't help. The continental breakfast was non existent. Try to talk to the desk assistant in the morning and no one was there. Finally left after a 10 minute wait. Am very unhappy with my stay and will not recommend another Econo Lodge."
