"A mixed bag: positives: house was clean and the key lock and parking was convenient, and food and drink supplies very welcome. Negatives: our booking was changed fairly last minute from “the terrace” to a different house “the Mews” for unknown reasons. (So my review is not for this listing, but for “The Mews”.) Although the house was on the same estate and also had 3 double bedrooms, one of the bedrooms was pretty small, and the original property had the master bedroom on its own top floor ,...

"Prices were very low and safe. There is a fast food restaurant nearby, which is convenient. Note that there was shampoo and soap, but no amenities such as hairdryers or toothbrushes. No air-conditioning, which can be a bit painful in hot weather. Heat can easily build up. Also, note that this is an accommodation for international students who stay here for more than a few months, and it is rare to find a guest like me on Expedia who only stays for 3-4 days and uses it like a hotel. The Beeches Hotel and Leisure Club

8/10 Good

"Very convenient hotel for us as going to a do at the cricket ground. Comfortable bed, good breakfast. My only complaint would be the lighting in the room - either bright centre light or bedside lights that you couldn’t see a thing when on so couldn’t read in bed at night with them."

Derby Mickleover Hotel, BW Signature Collection

8/10 Good

"Arrived late for one night stay following a wedding so didn’t use any of the amenities or restaurant. Bed was really comfortable, we could control our own heating or air conditioning via a remote which was great as we hate it when these are controlled centrally. Room had tea/coffee tray, hairdryer and spare pillows and there is shampoo, shower gel and hand wash in the bathroom. Bathroom was a little tired, plastic shower head and fittings, and the bath panel and bottom of the door had paint missing which made them look tatty. Comfortable stay and we would stay here again when visiting the area."

Royal Court Hotel

8/10 Good

"Very comfortable stay at the hotel. Room had everything we needed, even I-player on the TV! We ate at the hotel for our evening meal, and was not overly impressed with the food. It was good value, all things considering, but was not expecting a buffet style help yourself meal, which looked like it had been sitting there for too long and was a bit tasteless. A bit of a surprise considering how 'upmarket posh' the rest of the hotel looks."
