"We were in the area to do some family history research. Ariano Irpino was an excellent base, and Hotel Biffy was a great place to lay down our heads at the end of the day. Great beds, pillows and duvets. Breakfast was pleasant. Thank you to multilingual barista Jasmine. A supermercato is just around the corner for picnic supplies. "

"If your looking for a place close to the train station this is great. A little bit of a trek up hill to get to the city center where everything is. No breakfast unless you think packaged biscuits and bread breakfast, not happy about that. "

"We booked a room, showed up before checkin time and they were not operating yet for the season. Mistakes happen, so we weren’t too upset as we found a nearby room at Hotel Portobello . The groundskeeper told us to get a refund thru Expedia. Expedia contacted the hotel, the hotel denied our refund. They said we didn’t cancel within the cancelation time frame?? This place is such a scam. I do not recommend unless you want to risk losing your money. "

"Very friendly welcome and service throughout our stay. Food was delicious. The bedrooms and public areas are works of art. Truly lovely. "

"The check in was a breeze. The breakfast was the typical breakfast in Italy with Italian cakes, cut up fruits, sliced local Kraft type cheese, yogurt, Italian croissants (home made), toast bread, and Italian cookies. The cons of the hotel: The wifi internet never worked. Actually we could never get it took to work with our cell phones. We tried on 6 different iPhones including an iPad . "If you favour the unique charm of hyper local, locally owned and operated accommodations over generic ones catering to mass tourism, you will be enchanted by Le Foglie di Acanto. Staying there is to experience the rare pleasure of falling back in time into another epoch, unencumbered by the strains of modern life. This is a unique palazzo brimming with soul and lovingly restored by a local family over two decades with a view towards preservation. Everywhere you look you will be rewarded with thoughtful vignettes of artfully curated objects and exquisite, locally-made textiles, all inviting quiet contemplation. The verdant interior courtyard where breakfast is served under the shade of a pomegranate tree is a quiet sanctuary where one could easily while away hours. The rooms are beguilingly, impeccably clean, the hosts are delightful; and you’d do well to heed their restaurant and gelato recommendations. There’s robust wifi in the rooms, but if not for that, you’d not be mistaken for falling under the delusion that you’d entered another era the moment you step through the doors of this enchanting property."

Ayma B&B is near-perfect!

"Mirabella Eclano, about two hours east of Naples, is a very old hill town with breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside of lush, green hills, vineyards and mountains, that is every bit as gorgeous as Tuscany. Situated below is the modern town, a series of small, impressive communities. For the five days I visited Mirabella Eclano, Ayma B&B was that rare near-perfect place to stay. Owner and host Alessandra was exceptionally thoughtful and kind, even reaching out to her friends before I arrived to help me connect with people I should meet while there. The B&B is new, but built on the site of a ruin, and designed by the owner to reflect how she imagined a 15th c palazzo would look, complete with four turrets. My suite of rooms was immaculate, came stocked with everything I needed, including a super-comfortable Tempurpedic bed and pillows! Alessandra’s made-to-order breakfast every morning was delicious, especially alfresco on the patio in its pretty setting. Ayma B&B is a very special place to stay. I would give it 10 stars!"

2 stars at the most. Dirty and uncomfortable.

"While the evening staff was very welcoming and the room large, everything else in this hotel was extremely disappointing. The shower was tiny and the water flow was hardly a drizzle. The room was basic and the furniture - old. Breakfast was basic compared to standard Italian hotels, and most tables in the restaurant were filthy with leftovers and crumbs from previous guests. I definitely do not recommend this place. "

Needs freshening up

"Positives: service was fast and friendly. Nicola was very helpful of where to visit in LUCERA and help with luggage. Breakfast pastries were fresh and coffee great. Negatives: the location is a10 minute car ride to town and nothing is around (except unfinished building). Landscaping needs to be cleaned up to give the look from the photos. Any noise in the building is noticeable in the room, even chairs moving and low voices. I picked because of the positives reviews, which I think are out of date."
