"On our recent trip to Madison Wisconsin we stayed at the local Tru Hotel - It is designed, aimed and priced pretty much at younger travelers, so it has big positive messages all over as part of the decor - I could take that or leave it- but Im not quite the target audience. I have stayed at this hotel before, so I did come back.
Down-sides, our room was right next door to the housekeeping rooms. When the staff reported for the day, the door slammed everytime they went in or out. The sound traveled down the wall our beds were up against, so we heard it every time. This could be solved by the hotel putting some kind of anti-slam feature on the housekeeper's door, I don't think the housekeepers were at fault. Coffee was provided in the lobby at all hours, but no coffee machines in the hotel room. On top of that, the urns proudly say they're Lavazza coffee, but I have been to Italy and had real Lavazza- the coffee in the urns in the lobby is not a match. I could give that a pass though, as there was plenty of cream and sugar available.
Up-sides, the rooms are clean and spacious, and worked well for our travel needs. The staff is friendly, polite and helpful, and provided extra blankets when we asked. The breakfast is hardy, consisting of general staples and all our party could find what they wanted to eat. Coffee, both regular and decaf were available at all times of day, plus hot water so you could make tea or hot cocoa too. Over-all, good, I'd stay here again."
