"Small family-run hotel located at a small village. Very well maintained. Room was really comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. It is also conveniently located very close to the PR7 hiking trail. Other highlights of the region, such as Ponte Arouca, are within a 45 minutes radius. I waa happy to stay there. Just beware that there is no restaurant in the hotel nor within walking distance, and neither a supermarket nearby."

"The hotel is in a prime position on the river Bank and has an older style. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our twin room had a fabulous river view and was a good size with comfy beds and quality amenities. Breakfast was varied and tasty and served in the panoramic restaurant on the 3rd floor. It was served from 7am to 11am so it was great as we could take our time and enjoy the views. Highly recommended."

The only reason this isn't a full five stars is the more rural location means a bit more travel time to reach — but that's also part of what makes the Douro so peaceful and worth visiting. Our room overlooked the river, and we often found ourselves sitting in silence, simply taking in the breathtaking scenery and peaceful surroundings. The pool facilities were beautifully maintained and provided the perfect setting for relaxation. The restaurants were outstanding, and the breakfast was excellent, offering a delicious and varied selection each morning. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional staff. Everyone we encountered was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making our stay all the more memorable. Overall, we had an incredible experience and cannot recommend Octant Douro highly enough. We sincerely hope to return in the future and look forward to exploring some of Octant’s other properties throughout Portugal."
