The room was ok. They never cleaned our room. The person staying in the room next door left the TV on all night. We could hear the TV through the wall. The front desk took care of that the following day. You get what you pay for.

The overall stay at the property was great. However, there are no refrigerators in the property. I called the front desk and there are refrigerators for rent, I thought great! Rented refrigerator for $30, they came in plugged it in. I place my BREASTMILK inside just to check on it the next day and it wasn’t working!! I had to throw my breastmilk away! I called the front desk and they offered a new one but I was already checking out the next day. So just be sure you allow the fridge to run and be sure it is working before placing anything in it.
On another note, the customer service in every area was great, I was just so upset about my milk.

The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of staff. Stick with me here. Staff were AMAZING! Everyone was friendly, helpful, and would literally do anything to make our stay wonderful. Front desk even came to our room to change our beeping fire alarm due to low batteries. Just good, hard working people…..however, they are severely understaffed. Bar, restaurant, front desk (and cafe)….all fabulous, and they receive 5 stars.
Now the 2 star review. Although this was clearly a luxurious lodge in its day….it is falling into disrepair. Stairwell smelled as though an animal had died, items stacked in corners of hallways, ice machine not working, rooms out of date, outside needed paint and siding replaced, and I could go on and on and on. Our room was clean, but getting TO our room was rather concerning. Apparently, there are new owners that have a vision to bring this once luxurious lodge back to its grandeur. And, more than anything, I hope this is true. There is SO MUCH potential there!! It just needs LOTS of love, time and attention.

The attention from the staff is impeccable. Outstanding experience the best hotel in all of Barahona and its vicinity. I will certainly come back and relive a truly natural oasis.

Don’t do it!!!
This motel should not be available via Hotels.com. 1) they did not have our reservation 2) the noise from pool area literally moved my bed during the night. 3) restaurant closed probably due to holes in roof. All for $88. Ripped off!!

Not much really going on in this area. The hotel needs help. The food was pretty decent. Filipe, the hotel manager was so helpful. The hotel was unable to accept cards as payment so that was a bit of a hassle. Had to find an ATM. Not that big of a deal
