"The Hotel Kakola is a unique property. It's one of the most unusual hotels we have stayed in because up until just a few years ago it had been a prison! They certainly did a fabulous remodeling to make it into a lovely hotel.
The gals at the reception were very friendly and helpful. Henna went above and beyond spending time with us to give us ideas for touring the area.
We enjoyed both the outdoor terrace and the buffet breakfast.
It's a bit eerie to see handcuffs on the backs of the chairs in the lobby bar but it's all part of the effect of the prison!
Our room was very spacious and lovely!
I would highly recommend the Hotel Kakola for your stay in Turku, Finland!"
"Basement parking was easy to find €20 is not so bad for one day very central location so very perfect New refurbished hotel so everyone was in good order. I arrive very late and was greeted very well with no problems at checking"
"What a lovely hotel! My family enjoyed our five nights at this lovely little gem in Turku. The room was clean and well appointed. We loved that there was a window that would open and a ceiling fan. To top that off there were automatic sun awnings that rolled out at just the right time to keep the room a lovely cool temperature. The front desk staff were friendly and always available to help. The breakfast buffet was delightful. They had lots of gluten free options on the buffet, but also provided bread and pastries from the kitchen when asked to keep them gluten free. Lovely central location with lots of things to walk to and many bus lines close by."
