The staff are friendly and helpful.Hotel is easy to get to and good for a place to have a bed for the night or two. Forget getting breakfast there. Not worth the money for breakfast. However there are numerous cafes and restaurants around that you can get breakfast, lunch or dinner

Very friendly staff. Hotel looks a bit shabby from the outside but is clean and welcoming inside. The room was tiny, with insufficient space for our bags and free access around the room.

The hotel room was run down, ceiling fixture was disconnected from the ceiling and hanging, which was over the shower. The 3 beds were pushed all together side by side. It looked nothing like the photos. The carpet in hallways smelled of mold. We found a bedbug and that was the last straw I went to the front desk, he was very apologetic and said he will refund my card. I had to leave and get a new hotel ASAP.

Enjoyable stay in Paris
This is a very basic hotel, clean and comfortable in a very good area of Paris. Round the corner from a metro station and lots of restaurants, bars and bakeries. You are getting what you paid for

The hotel's proximity to Gare de l'Est makes it an excellent choice for anyone traveling to or from that station.

Hôtel Garden Opéra was not great for the price
The price is very steep compared to level of comfort at the hotel. It is an old building they converted into a hotel, there are fundamental problems like the lift keeps switching between 2 and 4, and level 3 cannot really be reached. The place is not big enough for comfort. Cleanliness was not an issue though.

Terrible. Rooms are extremely small. Very old and uncomfortable beds. Neighborhood isn’t safe. Breakfast was horrible. Overall horrible experience. Expensive. You can get a better hotel for same or lower price.

Room was nothing like expected. There were no amentities and linen and towels were very old. Room was not suitable for 4 people. Not suituated in a good part of town and quite loud through the nights. Very disappointing.

Basic, inexpensive, conveniently located hotel.
To all the people who left negative reviews: If you want Hyatt style comfort go and pay the price for it. We stayed for 3 nights and there`s nothing bad to say about the hotel, considering we paid $150 per person including flight from Frankfurt. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the wifi was surprisingly fast and most importantly, it had air conditioning, which many other more expensive hotels in the center of Paris do not offer. The location was convenient, close to transportation and in walking distance of many points of interest.

The Worst Hotel In Paris
Do not book here. Do not do it. We were robbed just right outside by knife and had our very expensive camera stolen and a phone (luckily nothing else that they got away with and we were all unharmed). The hotel's lobby bathroom was far more disgusting than the free public stall bathrooms in the middle of the sidewalks in Paris (it was filthy and disgusting). The elevator was only fit for 1 person and shook and showed 2-4 2-4 when it was going through all 5 floors until we reached the one you needed to get off on. There was screaming matches going on for hours that they let happen in their hotel. The staff was incredibly rude and when we told them of being robbed by them they told us that it would happen in New York and not to complain (that we should expect it). They were not apologetic and didn't believe we should even go to the police (which we did and made a compliant). They were horrible. They told us were stupid for wanting to leave rather than stay the one night more (we were scheduled for 2 nights but booked another hotel that very night at Hotel California for the next morning).

The hotel is best described as basic, the rooms small but adequate. Although the bed was hard and uncomfortable the bed linen was spotless. There was a chair but it didn't look clean enough to use. The bathroom needed urgent upgrading. At 8 euros the breakfast was expensive and you needed to get there early before supplies ran out. We found an excellent café near the Gare de l'Est serving English Breakfast which was great value at 8.5 euros. The hotel is well positioned for Metro, bus and railway and not too far to walk into central Paris, but it is very noisy at night with lively and cosmopolitan locals and bars. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful despite the lack of facilities, but it is very cheap for Paris so expectations were not high.

The room is very small, for 3 occupants they put a cot into the regular tiny room. There was about 8 inches of space on each side of the bed throughout the entire room. It was so small. to move around the room, everyone had to shift around to allow you to pass. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the neighborhood was neat, lots of Turkish, Pakistani, and Indian restaurants on the block. A bakery and produce store and several bistros on the block. Half a block from a metro station. The size of the room was barely livable and I want more than that for a lot of money.

The room was small for the price, the bathroom was dirty, the shower did not have a panel so water was going everywhere when you took a shower. The matter was yellow and the bedding was full of black marks, the pillows where very thin and the mattress was very hard

The worse hotel I had ever seen, a 0 star hotel
The hotel is in a very scary neighborhood. The rooms are old, dirty and full of mold. The bath room is smelly with a missing door and a broken shower head. The phone was not working. Every night on our way back to the hotel, we always saw many people standing near the hotel. We could hear people talking next to our room. Both our room door and window were opened the second day we checked in into the hotel. My husband even found a broken glass piece under our pillow. This hotel definitely ruined our whole experiences with Paris.

Not nice at all! The neighbourhood is very dangerous, not safe! Room was filthy (even found a old primark ticket behind the curtain!) and sheets were dirty, bathroom had not even been cleaned. The receptionist was very nice to is but when I complained the manager said he would not refund me because I threatened to write a bad review. Very rude too!

dont go with secret choice
got this hotel through expedia secret choice ie did not know the hotel name until after booking was very dissappinted with the choice and will not do that again hotel very small and is well past needing a refurbishment rooms are tiny and somewhat dirty have to wait 10 mins running the hot water tap for it to arrive in bathroom the breakfast is not worth a mention and coffee comes from a machine The staff are very freindly and helpful and the location is not too bad but very noisy street

Located about a 15 min walk to Notre Dame with a Metro station on the corner (Chateau D'eau) this was a perfect venue for our one night stay in Paris en route to Munich. The area is very busy but well located, lots of cheaper end restaurants etc
