TL;DR I’d definitely recommend, but know that you’re getting what you pay for.
Reading some of the previous reviews (after booking with no refunds) I worried what we were in for (“no towels”, “dark alleyway”, “dirty sheets”, “above a nightclub”). We experienced none of the problems mentioned. So, the accommodation is incredibly basic (the room had: bed, sink, table, chair, TV and nothing else!) but that’s what you’re paying for! We got a medium towel each, so maybe take your own if you can. The place was clean, even the communal toilets/showers. We never had a problem getting a toilet or shower. The breakfast looked pretty basic (cereal, bread and a few pastries) from our peek. The main downside is the area; it’s a little rundown, but felt perfectly safe, even at night; it’s about an hour walk from the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame, etc. We also asked for extra pillows, but they never arrived.
