"We got there just after 6pm. The place was open but there is no reception, nor was anyone there to greet us and no phone number to call. Fortunately there was a couple of guys staying there who were able to call someone who let us into our room. I couldn’t remember if this was a pay at property or if we had prepaid so I asked the guy who told me we owed €75. "This is our go to stop-over on our way back from a second home in the French Alps. The hotel is a Heritage Building at the heart of the old walled town which sits high above the city of Laon. There is plentiful parking in close proximity and a variety of interesting restaurants. Laon Cathedral is amongst the finest in France and is just 5 minutes walk. Excellent and cost effective breakfast not to be missed. We will be returning quite soon!"
