"We stayed at the sure stay 4 nights while we explored the New River Gorge and Monongahela forest. Location was about 30 mins or so from the gorge, but a lot of close by state parks and beautiful scenery to access easily. Hotel is right by the beautiful Summersville lake as well. Hotel is small, quaint. A little outdated on the outside. But the rooms were nice and clean. We stayed in the king size bed room and bed was super comfy and offered a good night's sleep. Shower was good. Breakfast is basic, waffles, cereal, toast/ breads, apples, juice and coffee. Hotel was quiet and felt safe. No extra amenities, but we didn't need that. Served our purpose of needing a clean, safe place to shower and lay heads after long days of exploring the wild, wonderful forests of West Virginia. Staff was all super friendly and helpful on all shifts. Close by to several places to grab good food. And the price point was awesome, saving money to be spent elsewhere."
"This is a basic, no-frills old property that has aged well. The rooms are plain, and nothing but coffee in the office for breakfast. I am a traveler who looks for a clean place to sleep and shower; the frills don't matter. This fits the bill for someone who would rather spend their money on other things than frills in a room they will sleep in and be gone from in 12 hours. In cities, cheap hotels attract an element to stay away from, but that type is not touring the back roads of West Virginia."
"The Moore House is an excellent place to stay for a very quiet vacation. It is close enough to Marlington for daily amenities and is a reasonable drive to Cass and SnowShoe. The owners are great people. The property is very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast every day consists of assorted bagels, muffins, baked goods, cereals, juices, coffee and fresh fruit. This was my second stay and won't be my last. Highly recommend."
