First Hotel Malpensa

"This is a good hotel if you're flying out early the next day, as we were. The rooms are larger than we typically found in Italy and the beds were clean and comfortable. There was a little bit of soap scum/mold in a corner of the shower, which kept me from giving it a higher rating. Nothing terrible, but a little detail that was missed. There is a shuttle to the airport (5 euros/person) which was prompt and efficient. The breakfast buffet (12 euros/person) was average. I opted for a pastry and cappucino (4,5 euros). We opted to eat down the street at Samarcanda, which was a hidden gem. It's a short walk and you might want to get a reservation as it does get crowded. Food there was surprisingly good, especially for the price."

"Wonderful staff and lovely included breakfast. Although the single room was small, it came with a nice lake view balcony. This whole area of Stresa is cute and convenient. Just a block or two from the lakefront or to supermarkets and restaurants."

"The hotel is gorgeous. Very elegant. Felt like living in a palace. The staff were satisfactory but not very personable. It felt like the staff were aware of the luxurious nature of the hotel and acted removed. Maybe there is no way around it. We felt more personally taken care of in smaller boutique hotels. The breakfast was nice and rich. The communal areas of the hotel were very pretty and elegant. There is definitely a trade off in this hotel between the luxury and person-ability of the experience."

"Good value for money, free parking is great, location is good if you have a car. Hotel room was as expected, the cost of breakfast and use of Spa facilities is extra and a little bit on the expensive side (which is why we did not make use of this). The sound proofing in the rooms is not great, you can hear the noise from the corridor everytime a door is shut or people walk past the room. Beds were comfortable and the room was well maintained. Overall would recommend the hotel based on the location and price point."
