Hôtel & Spa Le Maury, The Originals Boutique, Vannes

10/10 Excellent

"Check in was exceptional, really welcoming and helpful. We booked parking and were able to leave the car in the garage below, but just be aware if you have a large car the entrance is quite tight - reception staff guided me in and out and helped bring luggage in. There is public parking outside also. Reception is in a lounge/bar which also doubles as a breakfast room. It is a really pleasant place to sit and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is really well suited, its a 5 minute walk to the main shops and centre of town and to the medieval quarter and gardens by the city wall, maybe another 10 minutes gentle walk to the port area which was nice to walk round. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the town centre. The Buffet Breakfast at the hotel was good, with a choice of continental and cooked options. The rooms were clean and bright and comfortable and the layout made the most of the space in our room. Despite overlooking the road and a small square outside, there was little noise. In the bathroom area there was a large sink and a fantastic walk-in shower which was spotless. Enjoyed the stay in a really nice property with great staff."

"Adorable little seaside hotel. Everything was great, and I particularly liked the friendliness of the staff. My French is not great, but I do want to practice it, so the lady who checked me in purposefully spoke a bit slower and clearer, and I managed to follow along and understand perfectly! Would love to come back again for a longer stay."

"This is a pleasant and friendly accommodation in a lovely part of France. The duplex apartment we rented was nicely appointed with a super balcony view across the shared woodland and sporting facilities. The pools and other facilities were a short walk away, as was the car park. We had no trouble finding a parking space throughout our stay. The apartment was completely great for our family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kids. The decoration was perhaps a bit tired, and we found it difficult dealing with the heat during a very hot May in Pornichet. On arrival we were met by excellent reception staff who made us feel welcome. Throughout our stay reception provided great recommendations for local activities as well as things to do on site. Although there is a Carrefour just 800 metres away, and honestly you could walk into town too, I don’t think you’d want to stay at this accommodation without access to a car - the region has some great attractions to visit. Nantes airport is only 1hr drive and therefore Pornichet is really very easy to access. We love France and Breton culture - I hope we’ll be back soon."
