Beautiful historic home owned and operated by a descendant of the original builder in 1790. Comfortable room and excellent breakfasts in a bucolic setting. Owners were friendly and helpful in suggesting local restaurants and events. We would definitely go back.

Great Getaway

Maryann and George were great hosts and made us feel right at home. We were there for a one night getaway to celebrate our anniversary. They were extremely helpful in pointing us a great restaurant to enjoy the meal and the lakeview. We hope to go back this fall if our schedule allows :)

We booked the Rebecca Suite as we wanted the private deck to use. This was the only reason we booked at the Wagener's B&B. When we arrived we were told that the Rebecca Suite was being used by their daughter. We were very upset as that was the only room we wanted. They gave us a choice of any other room but we didn't want those. We had confirmation for the Rebecca Suite just 2 days before we went there. Very very disappointed. Also, we thought this B&B would be more isolated but it is right on a busy road so the traffic noise is really bad. The owners were great but they had no right giving our suite to their daughter.

About as perfect as you could imagine.

This B&B has everything you want, centrally located between 2 Finger Lakes and dozen's of quality wineries. The historical nature of the Inn is secondary but of no less value. Family owned for several generations, the Lord of the Manor will happily regale you of it's history. The Proprietress and Proprietor could not be more gracious and hospitable. Breakfast each day was a particular highlight, the quality of ingredients, presentation and abundance sent us all off for a day of site-seeing and wine tasting with our belly's full and little need for anything but a mid-day snack. Dining options for dinner are somewhat limited, the Top of the Lake has an amazing view of the lake, in fact you may chose to dine alfresco and seemingly on the lake with the infinity view. Staff was excellent but meals somehow missed their mark, ever so slightly but not without notice. The Keuka Restaurant downtown while more of a sports bar atmosphere, was actually the better choice for food and offers very comfortable, casual family dining.

Finger Lakes Retreat

George and Mary Ann may be new to the B&B business but their hospitality was just what we needed for a short getaway. We loved The Wagener Room ... more like a mini-suite. Breakfasts were over the top delicious. And the perfect location for cycling throughout the beautiful countryside. Highly recommend!

Wonderful B&B in the Finger Lakes of NY

Historic home lovingly restored. Hosts were very gracious and attentative and provided help on what to do and see in the area. The breakfast was fantastic, one of the best we have had at a B&B. Room we were in was large and well furnished; bed was comfortable and we slept great. Comfortable sitting room to read in on the first floor. I'd definitely recommend this to others and we will likely stay here again.

Relaxing Stay

The Wagener Estate is a beautiful space and has been renovated quite tastefully and comfortably over the past year. Breakfasts are not to be missed! Maryann creates delicious breakfast feasts that are served out on the beautiful front porch and in the mornings they brew a pot of coffee and have a Keurig available for other times. There are also freshly-baked cookies available in the Dining Room. Husband and I stayed for three days in the Melchoir Room, which is a comfortable, relaxing room (though taller people might want a room with higher ceilings). The bathroom was converted from an old closet so it is a tight space but it is clean and is private. For those needing a larger space, the David room has a large bathroom and the Wagner Suite has lovely vaulted ceilings.

Better than expected!

We had a lovely experience at Wagener Estate B&B. All of the rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated. Maryann and George are very friendly and informative innkeepers. Being served a bountiful and delicious breakfast on the front porch was a great way to start the day. You will not be disappointed with your stay here.

Best B & B in the area.

Maryann and husband went over and above to make us feel at home. Home made breakfast was very hearty with 5 star presentation. The owners were completely familiar with the Finger Lakes area, Wine Trail and local things to do. This was our second time staying at the B& B and looking forward to booking again for the summer.

AMAZING stay at Wagener Estates!

We stayed at Wagener Estates for a long weekend and we could not have been more pleased with our B&B choice. The owners, Maryann and George, were fantastic. They were friendly upon arrival and provided us with great recommendations for nearby wineries, breweries, and places to eat. George even took the time to draw us a map and explain what made each place worth visiting. They have family ties to the estate and to Penn Yan, so they are very enthusiastic about keeping the history of the estate alive. The food was absolutely delicious! Every morning we were treated to a home made, fresh, locally sourced, multi-course breakfast, which we enjoyed because it's not like the buffet style that you get at other B&B's. If you want to stay on Keuka Lake, we highly recommend Wagener Estates! - Melissa & Dan

Amazing Historical Property, Food and Experience

We chose to stay at the Wagener Estate last week even though some of the previous reviews were not the best, we loved the location and the history of the property. In researching their web site found that the property was recently purchased by a direct Wagener descendent and had undergone renovations. The property is wonderful , the breakfasts were 5star, our room ( the David ) was perfect, we loved having our wine on the front porch at night. The new owners George and Maryann were gracious hosts and loved their passion for their family heritage. Definitely 1 of the best B&B experiences we have had. Can't wait to came back in the fall.

Lovely Stay

Charming and relaxing B&B. Gorgeous grounds transport you back in time. Cathy couldn't be more delightful. There when you needed her to be with local information yet didn't hover. Breakfast was wonderful sitting on the porch and coming home in the afternoon to homemade cookies was a lovely treat. Looking forward to our next visit.

Weekend at the Wagener Estate

weekend at Wagener Bed & Breakfast Posted Jun 04, 2014 Pros: We immediately felt right at home. Cons: nothing! everything was just perfect Location: You visit a few unique wineries then go for lunch at a lakeside restaurant. After lunch you go to the local art and antique shops. Kathy the owner met us at the front door upon our arrival. This 5 acre Estate was built in the 1700's. Joe, Kathy's husband, maintains the beautiful Estate. The front porch looks out over the grounds. We had our breakfast and our own little wine and cheese tasting in the evening on this porch. I must tell you for breakfast Kathy prepared us fresh fruit, cappuccino muffins, broccoli omelets and apple pancakes. Our room had the old world look with all of the modern conveniences. We had a huge 4 poster bed and everything was very clean.
