Have stayed at the Queens several times , always excellent, my 90 year old mum struggles with her mobility so having a walk in shower was brilliant, she had no problem getting around at all

Had a lovely stay with a grand view of the bay. Breakfast was wonderful and offered early, which can be a problem in B&B style hotels. Room clean and a lovely tub with shower helped the travel fatigue. Lots within walking distance. Staff delightful and helpful. No AI!!!

A fairly basic but perfectly good hotel. Very well positioned in the town. Lovely views. My twin room was spacious and airy. I could have done with being able to open the window more, as I felt rather warm! It was lovely to be able to see the sea from my room and hear the waves. Really good breakfast included, cooked to order. Perfect poached eggs! Great place for a relaxed stay. Just don't expect anything too polished or modern!

Hotel location was great by the sea. Easy walk to most places. Breakfast included was a plus and most days service was very good. The weekend breakfast service was hectic and very slow, more people to serve. Being a much older hotel and perhaps with thinner walls, noise travels such as furniture moving and loud noises in the late evening carried. The room size was adequate with a lovely sea view. Maid service was once every three days so if you need anything you go to the front desk for it.

The hotel is in a good position with Lidl and a Pub closeby, which was good for dinner. The room is quite large with a good view. The breakfast food was nice but the slow service and lack of process to take orders defintely the needs improvement. Otherwise we enjoyed our 1 night stay.

Wonderful stay at the Queens Hotel, made even better by Firuze on the team who looked after us so well. She was so kind, attentive, and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. That kind of genuine care really makes a difference and turned a good stay into a great one. Highly recommend!

A 15min walk from the station, we were able to drop our bags ahead of check in and explore St Ives for the day before returning by train to check in after 4pm. Beds were comfy & clean. Furniture arranged slightly haphazardly but safely. We missed a bar of soap but had gel, shampoo & conditioner in small screw top jars. Breakfast was good but understaffed. Many people waited longer than expected for service and the staff were working hard. We would return.

Das Queens Hotel liegt direkt an der Promenade und bietet eine schöne Lage am Meer. Bis ins Stadtzentrum von Penzance läuft man etwa zehn Minuten. Beim Check-in wurde uns direkt mitgeteilt, dass unser Zimmer aufgrund von Personalmangel während des gesamten Aufenthalts nicht gereinigt werden würde. Die offene Kommunikation war zwar gut, dennoch ist das bei einem Hotelaufenthalt ein klarer Minuspunkt. Außerdem muss man bereits beim Einchecken eine feste Frühstückszeit angeben. Das wirkt etwas unflexibel, zumal man im Urlaub nicht unbedingt schon bei der Anreise planen möchte, wann man am nächsten Morgen frühstücken will. Das Frühstück wird überwiegend à la carte bestellt, daher fällt das Buffet eher klein aus. Die Auswahl der Frühstücksgerichte ist grundsätzlich in Ordnung. Bei einigen Varianten gehört Sauce Hollandaise dazu – das ist sicherlich nicht jedermanns Geschmack. Das Hotel ist insgesamt deutlich in die Jahre gekommen; stellenweise fühlt man sich eher in die 1960er-Jahre zurückversetzt. Das muss man mögen. Gleichzeitig erschließt sich der besondere, etwas nostalgische Charme des Hauses mit jedem weiteren Tag mehr. Insgesamt ein Hotel mit eigenem Charakter, bei dem man beim Service und bei der modernen Ausstattung jedoch Abstriche machen muss.

Splendid location of traditional seaside hotel. The full seaview we had from our double bedroom was amazing and calming and we enjoyed the mid week craft sale in the dining room. Staff were generally welcoming and helpful but there could have been a few more on duty at breakfast as noone came to offer us tea or coffee.

The Queen’s Hotel is another beautiful historic property, and it’s clear that considerable effort is being made to preserve its character while gradually renovating it. Our room had some attractive design features and retained period furniture, although a few pieces were showing their age with minor maintenance issues. The room itself was reasonably clean, though the carpets would benefit from either a thorough cleaning or replacement. Because of the hotel’s unique layout, reaching our room with luggage involved several flights of stairs despite there being a lift serving part of the building. The biggest downside for us was the Wi-Fi. The signal in our room was almost unusable, meaning we had to sit in the lounge to access the internet. The hotel also offers a paid premium Wi-Fi option for streaming, but given the poor signal in our area of the hotel, this wasn’t a practical solution. Reliable internet is something that is expected in most hotels today.

Lovely welcome at The Queens by the Receptionist. Hotel car park makes such a difference in busy Penzance. Very impressed by our sea-view room on first floor. Delicious breakfast the following morning. The 11am checkout gave us extra time. Such a lovely atmosphere at this hotel. Will come here again.

I had some issues with the cleanliness of the room. I raised them with staff on the front desk and they were fantastic. Fully engaging, very helpful - however the actual people responsible for the room cleaning were not and did not address anything. After nothing changed, the front desk staff moved me to a different room, and I had a good chat with and apology from the hotel manager. Overall, despite the issues with cleanliness, the hotel is well-run and it was a nice friendly place to stay. Staff are on the whole fantastic. Food was lovely, the bar and dining areas are really well-laid out and the hotel is in a brilliant location by the sea. I'd recommend it as a hotel, with the red flag about cleanliness - double check when you arrive! I think there is a professional disconnect between the staff responsible for cleaning rooms and the rest of the people working at the hotel which I hope they'll fix, so I'd give them the benefit of the doubt for that to be sorted.
