The hotel hast a very good placement in the heart of Perugia. You cannot hide though, that it is old and (Room 204) could really use a renovation. The bed was loud wenn rolling to the side and the bathroom smelled terribly after a while. Freshness was missing.

Don’t bother

We were given a 5th floor room when the lift only goes up to 4 so had to lug our case up steps to a gatret room. The shower stank the room was oppressively dark and the air con virtually non existent. The adjacent roof terrace was invaded by kids till the early hours which kept us awake. The beds were hard and pillows like lead. Breakfast was pedestrian. It’s not often I can’t drink the coffee. We were glad to move on

Hotel Fortuna's building itself is from the 14th Century but converted into a charming, warm and friendly hotel! The staff are wonderfully helpful. The breakfast room, historic and lovely, is really a treat. The girl that sets up the breakfast display does so with such careful attention, everything is laid out with such precision and care, arranged so beautifully that it is itself a work of art. My favorite part is that they offer local bread and local olive oil to make your own bruschetta, also they feature a local sheeps milk cheese. On top of that they have a full array of everything you could possibly want to start your day, a nice selection of fruit, breakfast pastries and cakes and Linzer torte, very thinly sliced ham, cheese and salami, yogurts, cereals... a cappuccino machine, juices. There are other common areas you should explore, like the rooftop terrace with lovely views, and an enchanting reading room. In your room there is a 4 page typed inventory of their library of books organized by language, they will bring whichever you choose to your room, I thought this was such a charming touch, very bohemian and yet elegant. There is also a glass display case of curios and trinkets and postcards donated from guests in the past, you can tell this is a very loved hotel, in some ways more than just a hotel. Lastly, the hotel LOOKS like the pictures! I know that is not always the case, the rooms are lovely and the outside is exquisite with that ivy crawling up the fac

We felt welcome here, from the minute we walked in, till checkout. Front desk staff seemed to be sincerely pleased with our stay. Lots of smiles, good advice, overall a success. Very good room, spacey, enough light, quiet with a good bathroom. The breakfast buffet was a delight with lots of choices and very friendly breakfast room attendant. Right next to the old town. You can take a taxi from the train station or the mini-metro for the more adventurous. Highly recommended.

Raggiungere l'albergo in macchina non è semplicissimo data la complessa planimetria di Perugia ma la reception è stata molto solerte nell'indicare preventivamente le opzioni disponibili per il parcheggio e l'accesso. The hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in, so much so we wish we had planned a couple of extra days there just to enjoy the roof top decks and lively area. The staff was exceptional and the young lady at the desk helped us tremendously when the train app was down last night so she fiund in online and printed a copy for us. I think her name is Lisa. I especially appreciated the IRONED towels in the bathroom, real touch of elegance!

Ottima posizione, ma scomodo.

L'hotel è artisticamente molto bello e in una posizione ottimale. Tuttavia non è molto confortevole: il letto era scomodo, il bagno era piccolo e scomodo. Inoltre puzzava. Il cattivo odore è dovuto dal caldo e dall'assenza di piogge. Consiglio di informare la reception in caso doveste avere lo stesso problema. Colazione soddisfacente. Non consigliato per le persone a mobilità ridotta.
