"VERY DISAPPOINTED ‼️. We stayed there 16 years ago and had a wonderful experience and were excited to return.
HOWEVER:
1. Receptionist wasn’t friendly
2. The welcome drink was a choice between cans of 3 beers, soda or water. Why not be a little classier and give a drink at the onsite bar.
3. The route we were told to take to our room was up 2 1/2 flights of stairs, and down two long halls. Not easy for the elderly. When we left we found we could go out side door near our room and down just one flight to parking area on the side.
4. Restaurant—it is ballroom size. Three tables were occupied. After waiting a while and no one came to wait on us, we found out you were supposed to pick up a menu and ring a bell to place order. Only five entrees on menu. We left to go elsewhere.
5. I think breakfast was going to be a muffin so we went elsewhere."
"Clean spaceous room. Comfy bed. Large fridge. Liked 2-person table in room. Interesting paintings around the building. Nice pool. Nice outdoor picnic area. Has laundry facility. Continental breakfast. Some breakfast items are in the freezer and needs to be microwaved...Interesting coffee stirrers...."
"The property is in great shape, and it is stunning to look at — especially all the little details inside.
The breakfast is very good and served on one plate (egg- based dish, fruit, sausage/bacon). When we were there, the afternoon tea included a nice charcuterie board.
The garden area was closed during our stay, and the mansion didn’t have many guests. We wondered how the small staff could handle a full house when all the rooms were booked as it seemed they didn’t have a lot of time to spare with only a few rooms occupied.
The WiFi on the second floor was not very good, and we struggled to keep the connection/had very slow down and upload speeds.
Lovely place to stay, and with a few tweaks it could be an amazingly memorable place to stay.

"The advertised restaurant was not open to hotel guests as they were having a community event. They suggested the Ivanhoe Hotel restaurant which not open until the next day."
