"The grounds were beautiful. We knew we were not staying on the suites in the castle however we were on the 2nd floor of the hotel and it was very minimal and small feeling. The hall to the room had a slanted ceiling from the rafters as well as a slanted ceiling in our room. It felt like we were staying in the attic. There were no wash cloths so if that’s a thing for you- bring your own. It was a wonderful stay however and I would do it again- just asking for a room on the first floor without slanted ceilings. (Not a huge deal but housekeeping put in 2 shampoos instead of body wash and there was no conditioner.) The beds were comfy and I highly recommend the breakfast at the castle. You do feel special eating there. Our guest check in person didn’t tell us anything about what we could do. We did figure it out ourselves. The bartender Sam was awesome and very talented. They have a nice sitting area and coffee bar. They offer a mobility pass for busses which are so convenient and Free for staying there. It even took us as far as Mondsee and Gilgen on the regional buses. Also highly recommended. We found “GuideAlong” audio tours in Banff and Dave The narrator does a wonderful one in Salzburg. Highly recommended looking at that. Lastly take the castle tour. Tell them you are a guest for a discount. If you can’t do that just explore the castle which we didn’t know we could do. The library is magical. Spend a little time there. Especially on a rainy day."

"This was our second stay at Hotel Schwabenwirt, and once again, it didn’t disappoint! It’s a great hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and nicely maintained. The only things that would make them even better would be a coffee machine and a small fridge. The staff are excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help with questions about the area. The restaurant downstairs is fantastic, and the breakfast is just as impressive! The location is incredibly convenient. Just across the street / roundabout, you’ll find the train station, bus connections, a grocery store, a liquor store, and a sports shop. The town centre is also just a scenic 10-minute walk away, and the walk itself is part of the charm. All in all, Hotel Schwabenwirt is a fantastic place to stay, especially if you want somewhere comfortable and convenient for exploring the area. We’d happily stay here again, and will!"
